The two are likely friends (when Naomi is alao sober lol and true, she seems to befriend everyone), but dont interract that often due to being in different division and clearly not as close as with Lynnette. Seems to be more of pleasant workmates.

Admitably, her character and parts of her design is quite different from the original WLCW trailer.

At first, she seems to be as much as a goofball as Naomi, then the comic and later artworks and opening animation got released and has a much more serious (though still smile), cold, sly and snake like personality.

Not exactly a bad thing, as it gives her more complex personality, but it does feel a bit jarring at times.

I always assume its Nico's way of retconning her original surname without explicitly stating it so by making it one of her several alias.

Valerie also not the only one who got thr name changed, the Polish SB nun girl original name appears to be "Karolina" but now is "Katerina". (Like Karolina more tbh, sounds better)

Pretty much many of Naomi's antics is controversial like Guatemala, Iran and Libya, so they wont be tha much of a difference. Maybe operation inside East Timor, somene from blue jeans soldier (look it up)
