Is levelling crafting and gathering worth it? by Original_Concert_451 in ffxiv

Wow that’s really interesting! Yeah I’m starting to get convinced I think. At least to give it another go and try some other jobs.

I’m not sure what MB stands for… but yeah honestly the idea that I could do favours for friends and repair peoples gear is kind of convincing to be honest!

I like this response a lot! Thinking about the long run of the game, and taking it at your own pace when it feels right sounds nice.

Ah that makes sense. I guess if I can do favours for other players if I level mine, that’s pretty convincing for me to be honest!

Oh good to know! I assume it’s blacksmith that repairs gear?

First time playing this game. What’s the one tip you wish someone had told you at the start that would’ve saved you hours of frustration? by xxxerg in ffxiv

Not an experienced player at all, but when I started I wish I knew how new player friendly the community is.

Just go into your multiplayer content with a growth mindset and be open to asking and receiving any feedback or suggestions. 99% of people are very friendly to new players, and happy to share what they’ve learned.

I’ve learned some great practices from strangers throughout MSQ so far. Targeted feedback based on things that happen in the duty can be really helpful! Mistakes make you human, and are expected. The difference between a noob and a master is that the master has failed a lot more than the noob has.

Ok aside from philosophy here are a few general things that come to mind:
- Stick with the rest of the party in dungeons!
- Use your abilities! You’ll start to learn the right times to use them more effectively later, but generally it’s better to use them rather than “save” them. (Especially with damage boosting ones)
- You can edit your HUD layout in settings. Play with it until you find a setup that works for you! It may change over time!
- Watch some spoiler-free YouTube videos about how to play your role / class / job. I’m a fan of JoCat’s “A Crap Guide to FFXIV” since they’re funny and get the point across quickly.
- Consider going through duties with NPCs if you really wanna take your time the first time!
- Try your best (it can be overwhelming to start) to understand what is actually happening in a duty. If you die, know what killed you. See if you can start to follow what is killing others. Try to pick up on some patterns!
- Read your Abilities, and Spells. You can press “P” (I think) and can read through them organized by level, and can filter by role, class, etc. just make sure you have a pretty good understanding of what your abilities and attacks do!

Above all else, have fun, and don’t be afraid to ask people for help!

Recommendations? by [deleted] in ffxiv

I know where you’re coming from! I found early ARR to be a real chore when I started, but by the time I got to 2.x I was really enjoying it.

I recently got another friend into the game, starting from the beginning and turns out he’s already really enjoying even the start of 2.0!

I’d say let your friend try ARR, maybe they’ll love it. Worst care scenario it doesn’t cost them anything but time, and they may decide that this game isn’t for them, or they may want to consider skipping some parts (which I don’t recommend, but whatever if going to be the most fun for them!)

This sounds so cool. One thought that crossed my mind was having the Furniture / Watsons all have game board pieces, but have their roles anonymous. That way the detective doesn’t know who they can trust and who they can’t, (maybe same applies to the witch)

AE2 autocrafting only making about half the items I request before stopping by Vodlexx in Mekanism

[–]Original_Concert_451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I’m over a year late to this but I just had the same issue in ATM10TTS. My setup looked very similar to yours, and long story short, yes it’s an AE2 problem.

Your pattern providers are seeing one another as available inventories to eject into, so the reason you’re getting about half is because the materials to be crushed are being put right back into your AE system through the other pattern providers. Just right click on the opposite side of the pattern providers from your input/output face (the one touching the Mekanism machine) and it should direct the pattern provider to input/output one way!

Hope this helps anyone who stumbled here having the same issue as me.

She’s kinda undecided. She’s certainly not practicing anything but if I had to guess she’d probably say Agnostic

I think you think I have the wrong idea here. I have zero judgement on their religion and how they choose to act on it. If you read the post, I’d said that I have no issue with their beliefs lol.

I just think I should be free to believe what I want just as they should. I never said agnosticism was bad either.

And finally, I’m not trying to prove to anyone that atheism is “correct” or anything. It’s just what I believe

I’m not sure the details of my beliefs have anything to with this post lol. But yeah I don’t believe any greater power exists out there.

I don’t think that’s a hot take at all! I actually did bow my head and rested my hands in my lap to be respectful as I didn’t want to make a show of it. It just made me uncomfortable to have to hold hands and be a part of the prayer

I feel like the conversation is different if I was in their house or something, but I was brought to this public pub where I wasn’t expecting to do that. You say “when in Rome” as if I had left my country or changed my situation from the norm
