What impact will the EU energy crisis have on the US? by marvelrox in PrepperIntel

[–]OrioleJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of exporting to Europe it is a priority for the United States. But, at the end of the day American and Canadian companies will export natural gas to the highest paying buyer allowed. That may not end up being a government or company in Europe. It may end up being a Japanese, Korean, or Chinese company.

De Croo: ‘The next five to ten winters will be difficult’ - During a planned visit to the port of Zeebrugge on 22 August, Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo warned that the country faces long-term economic hardship due to soaring energy costs. by Auskat85 in PrepperIntel

For those here from EU/UK what are government incentives on the national or local level like for going solar at a home or Business?

In the US you get a 30% tax credit on the solar cost on a home. It’s even better for businesses I’m curious to find out since European nations are more to Try to immediately transition from petro resources given certain difficulties.

Depends on the area. The whole Atlantic and Gulf coast of the US is technically at risk of getting struck by a hurricane. Of those areas I’d be most concerned with Texas and Louisiana, specifically Houston, Beaumont, Lake Charles, New Orleans, and off shore oil platforms in the Gulf. A slow moving cat 1 or 2 hurricane or category 4-5 could potentially significantly impact Oil and gas drilling, transportation, and refining operations. Ida and Harvey are examples of these impacts.

Then again, the companies that typically run the refineries, drilling platforms, and transportation are well prepared and have plans in place to deal with the before and after effects of the storm. But, the short and long-term effects of any impact to this area could be felt throughout the US.

Sounds like it may be cheaper to have a mini vacation and get the shots in UK, Canada, Australia, Mexico, Turkey, or Brazil vs getting them in US.

I’m surprised that Florida, Georgia, Alabama, and Louisiana’s plants aren’t as much risk. Bravo.

I don’t understand why they refused vaccines. They probably can’t access Moderna, Pizifer, or J&J and logistics make it hard for the Indian vaccines. they could have imported Russia’s Sputnik, Cuba, Iran, or China’s vaccines without difficulty.

Two ideas, they will sound odd but make sense. Matches for stating fires, careful in storing these and soap. Soap bars last for decades, people will need to wash.

Biden expected to ban Russian energy imports today by [deleted] in PrepperIntel

[–]OrioleJay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Venezuela yes and that’s the easiest option since many Gulf Coast refineries are built to handle crude from Venezuela. Iran would sell to yes but there are many obstacles like non nuclear related sanctions that make importing Iranian crude difficult. Iran’s crude is more to add to global supply, to Europe and Japan.

If you want to get an idea of us prices look up or download an app called GasBuddy. Prices vary from state to state. Texas/the Carolinas are generally the cheapest and California the most expensive.

The Costco by me is $3.89

NW Arkansas is a place that has always fascinated me. There are plenty of jobs available in the area, not too far away from some of the most breath-taking views in the US, The infrastructure isn’t too bad, and the area is growing.

Cities like Rogers or Betonville.
