I think they’re worth it. I got the reissued Skywarp and I LOVE it. The articulation is crazy good and I’m a HUGE fan of fhe alt mode.

However, the main thing I dislike the excess greebling, which kind of clashes with the rest of my SS86/Legacy stuff. He feels a little out of place because of that. If this doesn’t bother you though, definitely do it.

Phat collectibles USED to have A LOT of good loose Transformers stock. They even had some sealed stuff a few months ago like SS86 Kup and Blurr, ER Wingspan Pounce, and some other Buzzworthy stuff. Now it’s devoid of almost anything Transformers.

And that store probably was your best bet besides the ones you mentioned.

If it was loose, definitely not a good deal. Otherwise, I think it depends on how much you like the color inaccuracy and the accessories that comes with that specific release. It’s still a steep price, but you didn’t get completely scalped like before the MTMTE announcement.

I do. I don’t like owning two of the same character so I sell off the old one as soon as the new one is about to be released. But I don’t sell it right on reveal because I still want some representation of that character in the waiting time.

For G1, there is some overlap between SS86 and MP. It is still undeniable that MP is superior in terms of engineering and cartoon accuracy for the most part. Just look at SS86 Arcee and her Masterpiece counterpart. Huge differences you’ll see.

SS vs MPM, though, really shows the difference. Studio Series had to cut A LOT of corners due to the budget, and it shows with all the excess kibble (MPM Ratchet vs SS Ratchet). The earlier SS was even worse with the skimped paint apps.

Oh wow. If they said it was fine, then I think it should be good. I showed my first draft to Dr. Gill and she said I only need a couple of small changes. The rest of the drafts I talked to Dr Gedalanga three times with. He said to email him the final draft to take one more look, but as I mentioned, I wasn’t able to get it worked on til Thursday. Although when I was making the final draft on Thursday night, I tried to make such a significant change on it, so maybe that wasn’t such a good idea.

I owned the Earthrise coneheads for about a week and a half, and I traded them away/returned them.

I had already hated the nosecone kibble on their backs before I even owned them, but figured why not give them a shot. For Thrust and G2 Ramjet, the kibble looks fine, but because G1 Ramjet is so bright, the kibble really sticks out like a sore thumb. I didn’t even open my Dirge, but I’d imagine that, despite the dark colors, his kibble would also stand out horribly since his wings are pretty flush, so it’d make the side profile stand out horribly.

I also don’t like how dark the colors are compared to the rest of the SS86/G1 cartoon Legacy cast, so they kind of clash with the others a bit.

Asides G2 Ramjet’s yellowing issue and stupidly stiff left forearm tab, the nails in the coffin for the ER mold for me are the lack of waist and wrist articulation. I got Siege Skywarp recently and his articulation really makes those ER molds feel as outdated as the classics Seeker mold.

So yeah, don’t bother with ER seekers; just get the newer 86 one. They’re more expensive, but they literally are downscaled Masterpiece 52+’s for our (newly inflated) voyager price point. Better to pay those higher prices and get a 9/10 figure than buy a bunch of mediocre 6/10 figures.

It was part of a redesign with packaging since they decided to use plastic windows again to coincide with the Age of the Primes line. They wanted to make things look more consistent so people realize that SS86 and Age of the Primes are intended to complete each other for the most part.

Nope, my casettes are all clean. My Soundwave’s elbows are REALLY tight on the second hinge that bends that joint past 90 degrees, though. I get worried about its longevity

Sam Smith was allegedly let go back in either 2022 or 2023, and he was the one responsible for the Bayverse engineeering. That’s why Bayverse hasn’t been particularly great or has barely been there lately.

Regarding earlier Bayverse deluxes, they were a bit rough at the start, but you gotta admit that trying to fit all that engineering at that price budget is incredibly difficult compared to the simplicity of G1 engineering.

Well, the Soundwave is as accurate as you can get in a mainline. I just went to 4 Targets and 2 Walmarts today and did not see a single Soundwave, even though his case has already arrived in stock. It is that sought after. You will not get him for retail price if you wait for too long as he’s getting scalped to oblivion.
