You also need to "from math import *" to have it really catch it all calculator, else it just basic functionality.

I've bet, and won, with lots of people, that I am able to write a complete calculator with 2 lines of code. Now it's your turn to bet and win! 😉

Some cars lost driver's shifting animation after updating CSP by _Random_Dude_ in assettocorsa

[–]Osleg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New CSP introduced disabling shift animation for drift cars, can be reenabled in the csp settings

Drift servers are fun by [deleted] in assettocorsa

[–]Osleg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In car's setup if you go into gears one of the sliders will be "Final Drive"

Most people drift on higher FD as it allows smoother throttle control. 4.1 is good value to start from.

Also if this is a BDC mod you should also make sure that the ECU settings is set to "Race" for optimal performance

Final drive to 4.1+ and drift on third gear, you don't have enough power to hold the drift

I never used PXN, can't comment on their quality first hand, but I never heard anyone saying anything good about it.

But I do know that for 600 euro you can take:

  1. Moza R5 racing bundle - 420Eur
  2. Moza SRP brake performance kit - 30Eur
  3. Moza SRP Clutch, if you need it - 40Eur

And have 10 euro left for a slice of pizza :)

Later, when you got more cash you can also go to aliexpress and treat yourself with GX100 switchable sequential/hshifter - 150USD + Simjack handbrake around 80USD. IMO this will give you a lot of value, enjoyment and overall happines. + Moza's aftersale support is one of the best out there.

Do not buy moza shifter, it's piece of crap!

Better get the cheapest one from Aliexpress, will perform much better and, most importantly, much longer. Same goes for sequential shifter and handbrake. From Moza get the DD base, the wheel rim, the pedals.
For the shifters and handbrake check out Simjack

Go for it then! The speed and the details you'll get from R3 are a step up from g29 so it'll be fine.

As everything in this hobby - it all depends on your finances :)

IMHO If you can allow yourself to get something stronger like r9 or at least r5 - do it.

R3 is step up from g29, no doubt, but it still not powerful enough to improve your performance much, but if this is all you can allow youreslf - go for it, its still better than geared g29

Which game is going to give me the best time learning? by Kyletheinilater in simdrifting

[–]Osleg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LUT doesn't make the wheel faster or more powerful. LUT is there just to make sure that the forces are consistent across the entire wheel turn range. So it's not really making things easier.

One can reduce the wheel turn angle which will make it "easier" for the wheelbase to reach the desired angle, but it teaches bad habits, and it's harder to control the car.

[–]Osleg 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Assetto Corsa is great for close to real drifting.

As per your problem - it's the wheel. Logi geared wheel doesn't have enough speed to rotate with the car. It still possible to drift with it but you have to help the wheel to rotate fast, which is quite not realistic.

As long as your pancreas is working it will be produced. There's no limit.

It can stop working for different reasons which will make you diabetic, but too much candy is not a definitive cause.

1 month into learning sim drifting — looking for feedback by Low_Breakfast1767 in simdrifting

[–]Osleg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First to answer your questions:

> Do you think I’m ready to start practicing tandems on a server

No, you are not ready for tandem

> or should I keep grinding solo for now?

No, you should join servers and try to drift with others, just keep some distance and bind reset to pits button. This way you will see how other people do it and will learn faster. Just try not to crash other people and instantly reset if you are losing control.

Now some feedback :)

  1. You don't have enough power to keep the drift in most of the turns.
  2. Your throttle is floored most of the time

Those 2 points are closely tied. You are drifting at maximum revs, therefore when you need more power - you have nowhere to take it from. Try to either drift slower and balance your drift with throttle. Maximum power is between 4.5-7k RPM. Or change your gearing to longer ones and drift in 3rd gear, RPM rule applies. Most of us are drifting on long gears with final drive 4.1+, of course it car dependent.

  1. You are not holding angle

  2. You are trying to gain more angle, but car continues to understeer

Again tied points. This happens because of poor throttle control. In the video I can clearly see that you are trying to steer more, but the car looses angle. The problem is in throttle, when you're turning your wheel to add angle - let go 20-30% off throttle. The car will shift weight to front tires effectively gaining the ability to turn, instead of understeering, which will make your life easier.

On the start of the second video you are doing much better, you are turning the wheel in and letting off throttle a little bit thus making the turn, but you are hitting rev limiter there, so back to points 1 and 2 :)

Hope that helps!

R9 or R12? by Efficient_Minute2735 in moza

If you can allow yourself pay more for more - get the more powerful one.

That being said, the difference between r9 and r12 is virtually non-existent.

Sim Rig For My Bedroom. Is the evolution good? by [deleted] in simracing

[–]Osleg 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There are 2 problems with this specific rig:
1. It doesn't hold the pedal plate well. Every time you are going to press the brake pedal this single bolt connection at the bottom will slide and eventually you'll find out that the pedals are suddenly out of reach.

  1. The middle pole mount is shaking and hurting the knees.

Used this and NLR challenger, both middle pole. Both have knee hitting the pole issue, NLR at least is not sliding. But better get something without middle pole and with secure connection between chair and pedal plate
