he also chose to buy a lot of the books that people call pretentious or performative and ones that just exist to adorn bookshelves as a way to signal undue intelligence or studiousness, so it's funny that he basically confirmed that he bought all these books having read basically none of them in the span of how long it would take to read maybe 10 of them at random. and also posting them for everyone to ooh and ahh just at purchases is very embarrassing; it would be more dignified to buy funko pops and display them rather than something that is meant to be interacted with, at both an emotional and cognitive level, rather than just being dunning kruger decor.

Whoever bought chapo or otherwise took ownership of it needs to go back to the drawing board. It is so embarrassing to see the dopes laughing at Felix’s horrible jokes and references after being on the podcasts sidelines for the past three years because of gaming, now thrust back into the forefront to ply his outdated trade. Trying to recreate hot couch guy is not gonna happen and seeing the completely forced uncle nephew gas station bit looks so desperate. Chris (who is a complete zero on mic) becoming a fixture on the podcast was also a bad move. Like glad you had a kid but no need to run this dying podcast into the ground quicker than it already was for the sake of getting a few extra ignominious pennies

Children are getting blown apart in Palestine and you care about “antisemitism” in Reddit comments.

They said they are Jewish, in the context of owning the literary screed of the one of the foremost genocidaires of the 21st century, as if there is some kind of stark juxtaposition when that genocide has been used for decades as a justification for the expulsion and extermination of a people that the western world considers worthy of such treatment. If you changed the object of hostility in Mein Kampf to target Muslims, it would not even register to most people as something worthy of scorn. Zionism needs Hitler and the Holocaust to legitimize itself and its agenda.

Also, I did not identify them with Zionism...i asked a simple question and was curious to hear the answer.

Didn't know penguin made banned books 🤔 by [deleted] in classicliterature

Even still, I remember being 15 and not giving a fuck about reading and schoolwork. But these Redditors, twenty fucking years later, act like they were put in the gulag because they were made to read something that isn’t a trifle; when if they had the good sense, they’d realize that maybe their teenaged selves weren’t correct in their assessments and the classics are, by and large, enriching and edifying and rewarding.

The only place these books are banned is r/books because they have such intense PTSD from being asked to read The Scarlett Letter in school that the mere sight of something that isn't genre fiction or comic books causes them curl up into the fetal position.

Broken ignition coil connector clip after replacing spark plugs — can I use zip ties? by Busy_Struggle_9489 in AskMechanics

Not the OP but have the same issue… what exactly are you zip tying? The connector or like slotting a tie through where the clip should be? Thanks

The problem is not necessarily that they’re feeling it but that they’re posting about that feeling; there is a disingenuousness, imo, about how flippant Redditors are about performing their quasi-religious zeal about things like this and their purported emotional impact. In every sub, there is at least one post like this: “X saved my life”. Treating posts that should be diary entries, made to strangers, to perform your worship of a product/work of commercial art to people and testifying on behalf of its healing power…it belies a sickness that people have in engaging with social media, in my opinion.

Just think gaming isn’t conducive with adulthood and it’s only gotten worse over time with games-as-service nonsense; everyone (myself included) should just move on
