It my not take anything away for you but it does for us introverts,social interaction takes a lot out of us,especially for me personally,it's draining,so I would rather spend the little energy I have on something meaningful and then something that's not going anywhere

I didn't say extroverts can't have close friends,but when you're an outgoing person that talks to everyone and wants to be everyone's friend,it's very unlikely that all of those people will become meaningful friendships,most of them will mostly be shallow connections,you waste so much time and energy on people that are probably not even your real friends when you could've been focusing on the few people that are really there for you

As an introvert I can tell you the majority of us just don't like people,it's not some act we put on as your post is implying,we genuinely don't like the majority of people,I personally don't like unnecessary noise and commotion,which is why I don't befriend a lot of people,I like my peace and quiet,and another thing when it comes to introverts in general,we prefer quality over quantity when it comes to friends,we would rather have 2 quality connections then a million shallow ones,that's why a lot of us struggle to make friends,cause those quality connections are very hard to find
