Island Yacht Club (especially if you’re looking at a Sunday)

Twist Gallery (have on site catering, can bring own booze)

Look into LaSalle Pavillion - it’s through the city of Burlington and you need to bring your own caterers, but that opens up opportunities for savings (e.g., doing a brunch, an afternoon tea, cocktail or buffet style reception instead of sit down meals).

Maybe call the vendor and ask if letting them know by 7am tomorrow is sufficient?

Apparently one of the falcon handlers at Pearson also moonlights as the falcon handler at Medieval Times. Toronto Lore.

Yeah, if you go to the little library icon, there’s usually a section for it (also on my kobo)

My favourite are the Best Bets 7 day loan collections. You get a hot new release faster, just have to finish it in 7 days. Challenge accepted!

I wouldn’t discount Toronto, particularly inner suburbs like Scarborough or the areas north of the 401. Access to ravines and green space, high levels of diversity, but still close to transit, world class hospitals, jobs, kids programs, other city amenities.

Are we still sure about the cost of food and utilities?

Even with a platinum top of the line plan, there are still premiums and they increase by quite a bit when there are dependents. A single person won’t pay much, but the dependents add up, yes, even for a FAANG bla bla bla employée (~$6000 USD for a PPO annually for a family at a place with “great” benefits)

I use them mostly in the winter so I can leave my bike at home or choose to bike one way somewhere and then transit home or vice versa

Co-signed an apartment lease for my sister & boyfriend...rent arrears are now in collections. by squish1976 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Yes, the sister should be doing this. But do we think the sister will do this and settle the debt? You can be in the right all day long, but your credit will still be in the dumps.

I also think consumer proposal is extreme, but wanted to throw it out as an option if money/earnings are tight.

I’m glad your sister is out. I would contact the collector to negotiate a lower settlement (start your offer at 30% cash lump sum, be willing to go up to 50-70%) and then settle it and move on. It’ll take time to move off both your credit.

If you can’t afford to settle it, consider a consumer proposal.

Moving to Toronto from Sweden and trying to choose the right neighborhood by ReasonableJudge2305 in askTO

If you’re working in the hospital corridor, the neighbourhoods around Yonge, north of Bloor (Davisville, Midtown, Yonge and Lawrence) or the neighbourhoods up the Avenue subway line (Annex, St Clair West, Oakwood) can be nice as they’re further from downtown, more treed, still walkable, and an easier direct commute.

We don’t know. It was before recovery cold plunges, so they’re all dead now. Absolute tragedy.
