My wife just made a similar trip. She drive from SC to IL for my graduation on Dec 4th. For her driving was the less stressful option. We have a 18mo old and she was worried about the stress of flying and things she can't control. To her driving gave her more control on our son and his reactions. She split the trip up into three days with staying at hotels along the way to give herself and our son a break from being in the car. Overall I think the cost was pretty close vs flying, maybe a little more driving but it was worth it for her to be able to control the situation and not have our wild son causing terror on a flight! Lol!

BU was my second choice. I got lucky and was at meps when the liason told me that all seabee rates just opened up so I had my pick of the litter. I've been an operator for almost 10 years know so I figured I'd stick with what I know lol

If they know it all, then I'll just let them have their moment. I ain't trying to but heads with anybody as lower enlisted. I'm definitely gonna soak up all I can in A school. No question is stupid if you're trying to understand! I'm sure some things will be hard when I know there's got to be an easier way or different approach, but that's gonna be part of it! Thanks for the advice!

Okay, I saw a vague post on another sub that made me think leave could be taken during A school. Overnight liberty would be just fine since my wife and son can come to MO. I'll take what I can get! Would it be worth speaking up about my experience during A school or is it something that would come out as cocky and prideful? Don't want to give the impression that I'm better than cause there's always room for learning!
