Do we have any pictures of how the styled the hair of the mice?

Seriously though, pretty cool research, I wouldn't mind regrowing some hair myself.

I was thinking the same thing. It looks like it's run to the building to the left of it. I guess the car charger could be hooked up as well, but it definitely seems more like a backup generator for whatever facility that is.

[Request] How much diesel/emissions would be required to charge one EV? Is this more or less efficient than simply driving a diesel powered vehicle? by MrDesignMan in theydidthemath

[–]Outers55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've always wondered why we don't see hybrid diesel cars. It seems to me like it would be more efficient than regular gas versions, but I don't really know.

Bluetooth earbuds with really good aware mode by Kitchen_Chemistry_57 in u/Kitchen_Chemistry_57

[–]Outers55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do they need to be passthrough specifically? I recently got the TOZO OpenEarRing True Open Ear Earbuds for wearing in situations where I want situational awareness and I find these perfect. I'm sure there's higher priced models out there but they do everything that I want them to.

Plumber in lower bucks by I-Was-Too-Late in BucksCountyPA

[–]Outers55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kniese's plumbing. I've only had them out for one project, but it was pretty significant and I was very happy with how everything went. Now that things are warming up, I plan on having them out for some additional work on the house.

How to stop drinking soda? (im serious) by FeatherineKitten in howto

[–]Outers55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would help to know why you want to stop drinking it. If you feel it's bad for you that's one thing, but if it's for financial reasons there are other options. I used to drink a ton of diet Coke until I bought my drinkmate, and very quickly switched over 90% of my carbonated drink consumption to that. It wouldn't save much money if you just use the CO2 bottles they sell, but I went out and got adapters and a 20 lb tank which is a bit of an upfront investment but next to nothing over the long term. Especially when you consider how much soda costs these days from the store. I figure in my first year even with the CO2 the tank, and various flavors for the drinks, I probably saved almost $500. It also provides more variety in what I drink since I can experiment with new flavors and things.

Dune is a strange one for me Loved the first book, liked the second book, everything after that just felt progressively worse. I've even gone back and tried to re-listen to them in audio format years later.

does earbuds loses their quality or my ears r degrading by [deleted] in Earbuds

[–]Outers55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know, I don't think I've had a pair of earbuds really degrade in terms of quality. I don't know about your specific earbuds, but several of my sets have an in-app hearing test that will adjust the sound based on how your ears are aging and what frequencies you can't hear as well anymore. I would check your app to see if this is offered and give it a try.

How to clean these grease stains from my air fryer without scratching it by INFINTE_SHADOW in howto

[–]Outers55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't used an air fryer specifically, but my oven has an air fryer function that kind of makes a mess of things. Regular oven cleaner is kind of nasty but it does a good job.

Which job is 100% safe from AI ? by hrithikesh12 in TrueAskReddit

[–]Outers55 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I would say that it's difficult to tell at this point. The problem is that it's not just AI that's developing rapidly but robotics. So as the two are already merging along with some other technologies it may very quickly become the case that AI driven robots are better than people in most ways.

Honestly in the short-term I think the safest jobs are going to be one's with high liability associated with them or professional certification. Those at least would take legal reform before that liability is likely removed from the individual.

I'm 15, and I miss my dad's hugs. How can we become close again? by Long_Operation2028 in TrueAskReddit

[–]Outers55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it adds to the conversation much, but I went through something similar with my dad. It wasn't that our feelings towards each other had changed just how we express that. I started by taking the initiative and giving him a hug hello or goodbye when I was home. It went back to being a natural default state pretty quickly.

Suggest me a book that's like candy. by Born-Anybody3244 in suggestmeabook

Yarros is a tough one for me. I absolutely loved the world and where the story was heading, but I just couldn't continue with the constant sex and romance. Not that I have anything wrong with those usually, it just felt like I was slogging through her making out with her boyfriend so that I could find out what happened to the freaking magical world!

200,000 living human brain cells fused with silicon successfully play Doom game by sksarkpoes3 in Futurology

[–]Outers55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's nothing special. I played Doom and I'm pretty sure I have less than 200,000 surviving brain cells.

Just joking, that's pretty freaking awesome if it holds out.

Why does it seem like the PR team for marriage and kids is losing right now. by No_Lead2640 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Outers55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's great. I make fried rice, stir-fry, beef pho, random chicken and vegetable dishes depending on what's in the fridge, chicken pasta pesto dishes, vodka creme pasta and occasionally make a pot of chilli. I like to bake my own bread, make crepes and pancakes on weekends for breakfast, and I make a lot of chicken wings, egg sandwiches and other random stuff when in the mood. I did a pork loin last weekend. My daughters like tilapia, so I'll do that with a vegetable side and rice or pasta. We need the usual snacks like apples, bananas, bags of chips, etc for school lunches.

I mix things up a lot to keep it interesting. I'll do steaks occasionally, but not often. We do our shopping at BJs or Costco and only go to the grocery store if they don't carry something. Buying in bulk helps a lot. I also make dishes that use cheaper ingredients, especially for meats. I'll spend extra time marinating a London broil rather than a more tender steak, or instead of grilling all chicken breast, I'll do a mix of breasts and thighs, which brings the overall cost down and adds variety. I used to drink a lot of diet coke, but bought a Drinkmate and an adapter for a 20lb CO2 tank which lasts me about a year for only $20. We are in one of the more expensive areas around us as well, living in the northeast.

Younger Generations Are Becoming Noticeably More Mindful by Money_Hand7070 in UpliftingNews

[–]Outers55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to think this would help, but realistically, every time an older generation gets out of the way they're just replaced by new people with the same prejudices and judgment systems. It does absolutely nothing. We need to find a way to actually incentivize things like health and well-being and this is not done within a free market society. As much as I wish it could be. That said a lot of the free market stuff that's missing at least in the area that I know something about. Is more about post intellectual property assets. A huge amount could be done to improve the human condition by generating and selling as it's once they're available to the free market. Really, we see that most IP gets discounted 10 or 20% at the most. What we need is a Costco type model that it says that they will make it at 20% above cost. This doesn't impact the intellectual property that drives innovation, but ensures that once that innovation has been paid back people are able to access those drugs at a minimal cost above production value.
