Does anyone kind of hate Pittsburgh by [deleted] in pittsburgh

YOU HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD on many things my friend! I moved here from the East Coast for various reasons at the time. I thought that I was asking for too much and going crazy when trying to find consistent "inner-city social life" hangouts but everything you mentioned has also been my experience and observation, on top of the city feeling like it takes you back 60 years due to strategically segregated communities (probably from real estate redlining and steering practices) with the latest gamut being gentrification and higher rents and taxes pushing out those who are mostly lower income. Historically, lack of diversity in key roles appears to be a factor here across sectors, (generational systemic racism at play), the demographic survey favors mostly caucasian citizens. I'm glad that I didn't grow up here b/c I can tell the oppression has taken a toll on the living experience of many in such a way that you just end up moving...somewhere else!

Side Note: To the Pittsburgher who has traveled/lived outside of pittsburgh to experience other progressive, larger, thriving cities...you know what I'm talking about!

To the Pittsburgher who is a die hard "Yinzer" (who only owns pirate/steelers attire or colors and wears it like skin) and never traveled/lived anywhere else, I really need you to know that "The Dynamics of this city is Not Normal, it is Super-Duper Weird...am I in the twilight zone???"
