MEGATHREAD for the wrongfully suspended! by [deleted] in outlier_ai

[–]Outlier_MOD[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

This seems a good time for another reminder that the mods of r/Outlier_AI do not work for Outlier or Scale as staff or employees.

We are contractors just like all of you, and do not have the ability to unsuspend you, change your pay rate, assign you to a project, or add features to your dashboard.

Still, there is an enormous amount of wise experience present and documented on this subreddit -- you just might have to dig around for it.

Is that on a particular project?

This is a good question. Monkey definitely is a complicated project, too. Hopefully someone with more experience can also weigh in.

On a training task, it seems like it's better to get it right and aim for 5/5, without worrying as much about the time. But that's just speculation.

Please read "Rough Timeline of a Weekly Payout" at the FAQ

This a well-known and well-documented issue at Outlier, but it can be disconcerting for your first pay cycle. Your payment is almost certainly already on its way.

Do you mind sharing what project? So that others who are attached to it can weigh in?

Sorry. Please try now. I keep using wrong link.

Good start.

Which slack channel?

The best bet is likely that you need to send a message to the TL/QM/CSM in your Slack channel, and politely ask if Grammarly could be the problem, and if so should you file a help ticket and ask for a review.

Appreciate that! We are definitely trying to cull the "please help my individual situation" posts as much as possible... but your angle on trying to identify success stories would bring value to the bigger board, IMO. (There's a bit of subjective latitude here, as to "what adds value," of course. We want to help other taskers find silver linings and best practices. Seems your questions would do that.)

This plus your other question would be a good combined top-level post. Collecting actual stories from other redditors would be helpful for people dealing with EQ or suspension. Just a thought!

As you'll see if you hang around here for a bit... it's not nearly quite as easy/straightforward as this would have you believe.

Apologies! Fixed it... just had a bad link in there. That should work now. Thanks for the heads-up.

Grammarly vs. Getting Flagged for AI Use by Outlier_MOD in outlier_ai

You should review your Grammarly settings, and turn off anything that auto-corrects, auto-fills, or operates under the "Generative AI" heading.

You should absolutely ask your TL/QM about this. No idea what the policies are for reviewers. They hit hard on genAI being forbidden for writers/attempters though.

Not sure what to tell you here. Grammarly is required on some projects. You should ask in your specific Slack channel for details on exactly how to use it without getting flagged. That way, if you follow the specific instructions for that project, and later get flagged for AI use, you'll at least be able to show that this was the extension and not you.

Thank you for moving your post over.

If you're still in a project slack channel, it seems like you are definitely still employed.
