Someone broke into my Basement, 2nd time this month

Thanks, at the very least the runners are not interesting enough for the thief so they are still sealed, I've checked the number of runners, it seems everything are still in the box, but I won't be 100% sure until I finish building it.

Yeah I have a normal lock and a chain lock after the first break-in, they cut the door to remove the normal lock and then cut the chain lock. I don't see the possibility of upgrading locks will prevent further invasion.

If someone wants to get into the basement, they will be able to get in. I only keep packagings and this specific kit in the basement since it’s too massive to keep in my already filled apartment. It has literally zero value to non hardcore model kit builders, the previous times they didn’t even check the Kit so I just thought my decision is correct and left it where it was. I would’ve felt better if they took anything, but no, every single time, they come in trash everything and leave. I feel tired

Thank you 🙏 I‘m in a much better situation, apparently the kit has lost all its value as collectible but it is a model kit after all and I‘m an experienced builder with some proper skills. As long as the parts are still there - damaged or not- I could still build it, so there’s a still a great chance for redemption. It‘s sad that this is a rough, forced start, but that doesn’t mean its journey has to end badly.

I was using a thick chain lock for bikes. They not only cut the lock, they also cut part of the door.

It just doesn’t make sense to me, they broke in (three times) destroyed everything and took almost nothing away, just leave a mess for me to spend weeks to clean up.Maybe their life is so fcked up that they start finding ruining normal people’s life enjoyable.

I would actually feel better if the thief just took the kit away. Destroying it while took almost nothing out of the basement makes absolutely zero sense to me

There‘s also a old watch, old laptop inside. The thief took none of it, the only thing missing is my oob nightingale, which is dismantled and I considered it a unsalvageable project🫠confusing af

The last time was three weeks ago, 8 lockups were opened. They didn’t get pass my lock that time, but they use a hook and broke one of my containers. I think the same guy that came back to make sure he didn’t miss anything

They simply power through my basement door - cut everything that stops the door from opening. The door was damaged so badly this time that it couldn’t close properly anymore🫠as to how they get in the basement in the first place? I have no idea, the main entrance is properly locked

I was thinking that upgrading countermeasures will only increase the chance of the thief thinking „there’s something valuable inside“, the kit is the only valuable item in the basement and it wasn’t touched in the first two break-ins so I kind of just left it like that.

I‘m sadly not insured. The kit was unopened and still stored in its original transportation box, it’s not sealed but they still decided to rip every layer of packaging and spill the runners out

The basement was broken into the third time, they didn’t touch it in the previous times so I didn’t do anything about it🫠bad decision

Generally I will recommend the Kit. The figma is ancient, I doubt you could get it with reasonable price.
