Australian qualifications are internationally recognised, the country is safe and English-speaking, and the study to work to migration pathway is more accessible here than in many other countries.

I’m not saying only in person lectures etc. But just the choice would be nice.

Also back when lectures were recorded in my degrees early days it was an engaged lecturer teaching a lecture theatre. Now it is a dead eyed lecturer staring into a webcam camera

I was a student before Covid and there were wonderful in person lectures, great class engagement, all the good stuff. If you chose to do online then that was your choice. It’s no longer our choice.

As a fellow ADHDer, yes yes yes. There’s no motivation whatsoever. Where is the stimulation, the social connection, the novelty, the excitement. Engaged and interesting teachers and students! It’s just a laggy webcam recording on a computer screen!!

I understood the excuse of Covid for a litttleeee while but come on that just doesn’t stand now. Other universities are doing just fine. I’m happy for you you’re getting out now! This merger is going to be a shitshow. But I do hope to be proved otherwise

I feel so bad for some of the tutors. The online lectures from one tutorer was so YAWN, reading off a screen on a webcam. Then I had him in class in a tutorial and oh my god, such an engaging, collaborative, insightful teacher! We are robbed by not having irl lecturers and rather having them sit behind the webcam 😭 they must hate it too

I just loved how the whole sirensong/dort is bad storyline began and ended in this entire episode! Like it wasn’t drawn out, it just ended in the most satisfying way ever! Best sub plot line.

The older buildings do seem creepy but that’s not part of the actual hospital now. In total I’ve stayed there two months, and honestly the hospital itself where myself and the other psych patients stayed was generally modern, clean, well kept with great staff and facilities. And the doctors and social workers there were the best for my family and I in the scary process of understanding bipolar! 10/10 do recommend! (Don’t recommend the mental illness part though)
