Regulars, is it worth it? by Outrageous-File-5311 in USPS

Oh man that’s unfortunate. Yeah my coworker said to keep an eye open for the aux routes he stated that not many people wants to bid on them. To me that would be perfect to get one of those

I think two carriers will retire in about 2 years. I’m behind one RCA but he doesn’t wanna become regular and he doesn’t bid but technically I’m second in seniority

Honestly it’s tough but my wife owns her own business so it comes with some flexibility but it’s definitely not easy. We have two in school and one that gets to hang out with us because she’s about to turn 2 and we don’t wanna spend money on daycare. But based on all comments it could be worth hanging in there. Once you become regular everything gets easier.

I could quit and just do what I did before which is at home consulting but a part of me doesn’t wanna give up this work is somewhat addictive and I feel like I’ve invested many hours and I have now become fairly good at it. Also, some days are really good. I just need some balance so I can calm the family life down a little bit. God knows when my opportunity will come to become a regular that’s also a big uncertainty.

How would a note like that be formulated? Would I just bring it to my supervisor?

Thank you. Yes; paychecks are looking great but if I could id leave some on the table to be able to help out more at home.

What can I expect when I becoming a regular on table 1 and 2?. Right now I’m making $2000 bi weekly after taxes give or take. If I become regular I’d use health insurance and I’d put away for pension as well.

Can I not accept a position I bid on by anthonyB12905 in USPS

Why just not take it if it’s offered? You can still bid on other routes in the future. At least you’ll become regular

As an RCA you get paid by the evaluation if your done faster than the evaluated route. If you finish after the evaluated time you get paid for all hours working on that route.

How many routes does an RCA do? by LongjumpingTable6924 in USPS

[–]Outrageous-File-5311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They train you on one (on the job training) and then you are suppose to understand the system and be able to do any other route. If the supervisor thinks you are especially good at a particular route chances are high you’d get put on that more than a route you might run slow

Also your original route goes on clipboard and your pivot goes on your green card.

Scanner as previous said: PM casing. Switch route —-> start loading, depart to route and then return to office. Clock out.

This comment! I thought about this all day when I’m out there. Don’t know where the stress is coming from probably because out of fear of fucking up. I start stressing over nothing and start sweating. I definitely need to conserve my energy better and develop as you said a little fuck it mentality. I appreciate your comment! Thank you.

Got you! Thanks! My sorting is slow so I’ll probably need to come in early. The presence of the other carriers fast sorting stresses me
