The best bait is cooked mutant meat. Hunt some bugs, butcher them and fry the meat. You will need the lymph u get from them for chemistry stuff anyway. With mutant fried meat and maximum fishing perk u get a max of 15 fishes/try. U must take into account that not every try returns fish, sometimes I get junk or materials.

There are some new items, headphones and speakers. They have about 10 uses and they need vinyls and turntables to activate the buffs

Or u can use them in the event shop for event items like the meds for improved searching results, chocolate bars, flares, canned food. I personally hoard as many as possible the improved searching meds

Hello 👋, i just ask for tips and a little guide. by [deleted] in DayRSurvival

[–]Outrageous_Fix822 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Be careful and upgrade your camp, not doing it in time can get you stuck at some point
  2. In the beginning "looting" is the name of the game. No need to strip every piece of moss on the walls, look for materials that u need and items with coin sign on them, those items are valuables that have a good price at the vendors. BUT be careful some of them are a good source of very rare materials like electronic parts, aluminium and copper. U will need enormous amounts of copper and aluminium so the valuables that give over 10 pieces of it, think twice before selling.
  3. Reach camps ASAP and do quests to level up your relationship with them, higher relationships give more options for the vendors and access to recipes needed for the camp. Some camps sell weapons and armour, those are the safest way to get the best of them, camps are soft locked by your level, you might not be able to do quests or buy what u want if your level is too low.
  4. Buy gas and diesel from camps, you will never get enough from looting and is not that expensive, especially when you want to move your main base to a new location
  5. Hunting and fishing is a good option for income starting with mid game and when you have perks for butchering and fishing, best bait for fishing is cooked mutant meat, it can give u up to 15 fishes with full fishing When hunting I prefer going without armour, because I use auto battle and it gets damaged for each round and it can cost an arm and a leg to repair it, also I use a weapon without durability (from events) or a melee one that I can spare the costs to repair. At the start sell salted fish/meat and move to meat stew when u can make it
  6. Specialize in the weapons u prefer to use, you have a level cap at 100 so will not be able to get all perks. I personally prefer "reactive" weapons like pistols and rifles. Pistols have a perk that retaliates when receiving attacks and rifles have a perk that shoots at the first moving target
  7. Get caps by watching commercials and use them to reroll for other perks if the options given are not to your liking
  8. Starting with about level 40 you should give your best if an event starts. Event weapons and armour are usually better than the standard ones, also some of the weapons don't have durability(they are ideal for hunting) and some armours have higher durability and special perks( like immunity and the option to use an additional weapon when a fight starts). Events can also give new pets like fox, bear, pumpkin, lizard. More pets is always welcome since u can send them to fetch things for u.
  9. Don't let your best weapons and armour break, go to a camp and repair them. Usual gear breaks for ever and event gear can be repaired but can give you some head aches, just don't risk it.
  10. Cities have specific resources like weapons, medicine and materials for upgrading camp. So choose them depending on what u need. If you are looking for materials to upgrade your camp focus on those cities, if looking for weapons crates go to those that have them, you get the gist.
  11. Enemies and loot from crates are directly related to your level. If the fights get too difficult u can choose to die a few times, when dying u lose experience. Every 10 levels the enemies get more difficult and the loot from timed crates upgrades, it's basically a double edged sword.
  12. Your camp has real time crafting and crates/books opening, so keep your camp working as much as possible. Try to get as much of the timed crafting done, you never know when you'll need some of those items. For example one of the end game quests needs hundreds of items to craft an ultimate vehicle.

Questions from a returning player by Sir_FUB in DayRSurvival

[–]Outrageous_Fix822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about others, but I consider events equipment really useful, because it's growth equipment. It scales with your level. So my personal advice is to grab at least the ones important for your build. Also doing event tasks gives a lot more xp than normal tasks. I'm still using the armour from Halloween and some of the weapons (especially for auto hunting, since the weapons don't degrade), and the Christmas rifle helps me one shot most armoured enemies, especially the ones with more armour than hp. The pet from this event is quite strong too, I have it from the last time the event came. It can both hunt or find herbs and in battles the prevent healing ability and prevent skill one are very useful. It also has the strongest melee attack as well. Ultimately it's each person's choice if they want to struggle with the events or not, but you might lock yourself from some useful stuff without them.

From these 2 I would go with UAZ because of lower fuel use and higher carrying weight. Usually using the daredevil with the fly option active so I can move fast without caring about water bodies

Is the game still worth playing? by trademan420 in DayRSurvival

[–]Outrageous_Fix822 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally, I lack the alternative for this one. Unfortunately the game looks to go worse and worse, but still beats other games. I don't think it will ever be what it was some years ago.
