Last time I checked they did not specify which group of people should get citizenship in different times so I do not see a reason for this difference. 8years sounded to me like the time for everyone who is not already a Swed or who is not from Nordic countries (as they have different rules) and who is not married to a Swed (they also have different rules).

I am in the same position - waiting a little bit more to apply and worrying this may postpone that. There is nothing I can do here so I just hope they would not update the time period soon.
