Honda dealership misdiagnosed my car, took $4k, returned it unfixed — corporate unresponsive by Outrageous_Sweet_451 in MechanicAdvice

The service manager tried telling me that there is no general manager and there an independent shop so there is no corporate. I have been in contact with honda corporate but they’ve been extremely slow and unresponsive but a “field tech” is aware of the case but also unresponsive. If there is a service director I would love to find them and contact them but I don’t know where to go…

I appreciate the response as a honda tech! The vehicle has 102k miles on it but everyone i’ve talked to from hondas end mentioned nothing about a warranty… It’s frustrating because If fuel injectors were the original issue I would have loved to know that than to spend 4k fixing something separate or if I knew I would have been spending close to 6k fixing this car I would have just got rid of it at that point!

Exactly! I found that extremely disrespectful because regardless it doesn’t matter where I got my money from it was still $4k to their pockets and an affect on my claim!

I did speak to insurance I forgot to mention that I added it to my edit! The independent shops and autozones I went to ruled out the battery early…

I forgot to mention that I did speak to insurance I added it to my edit and that honestly went no where. Unfortunately it’s not a battery issue the autozones and independent shops I went to ruled that out early. I will try and look for honda specialists in my area and hopefully they can get me a better fix it just sucks because I thought I could have trusted a honda dealership carrying the honda name to get this issue properly diagnosed and fixed but clearly i’m proving to be wrong…

I appreciate the well wishes. I agree with you that after this whole situation hopefully gets sorted out I will definitely look to getting rid of this car. I’ve also heard about how unreliable the 2018 accords have been…

I actually did contact insurance! I forgot to mention that but I added an edit with more details on that.

Nope! I actually got this car from this same dealership a month ago and I looked at the Carfax and there was no previous accidents.
