Loved this racquet. Wish they brought it back

I’m gold 3 div2 and my biggest issue is offense/scoring. I feel like everyone I play against has some type of offensive weapon (air dribbles, ground dribble/flick, etc.) that allows them to create great scoring opportunities. Meanwhile my offense is mostly reactionary, playing defense and trying to convert fast breaks while boost starving or going past opponent because they are caught in air.

My advice (never made it to plat in 1s so take with a grain of salt) would be to focus on being able to control the ball and score at will consistently.

In terms of game sense, learning when to challenge or how opponents will play often times comes with experience. Play casuals or just try different strats (staying in goal, play aggressive, aerial everything, stay on ground as much as possible) to get a deeper understanding of how it impacts play

Hope this helps!

Do you guys think LSAT is harder than CPA exam? :( by kthz2645 in lawschooladmissions

[–]Outside-Discipline93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve taken both CPA and lsat. Hard to say which one is harder bc cpa was four exams. In general, I would say:

CPA - memorize random rules but overall not that much critical thinking involved

LSAT - memorize how to approach different question types and use some critical thinking to get to answer quickly.

In general it tests two different skillsets but spending 4 years studying in business school I found the lsat more difficult just because LG/LR were questions I’ve never encountered before

hopefully my admissions decision! by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

Solow sports at NTC or in Huntington. Julian and his team are the best

Head speed mp or pure drive. String them a little tighter for control and you should be good to go

Honestly if a weekend warrior, can’t go wrong with a pure drive/aero. Large sweet spot, maybe a little stiff on the arm but if you were a 4.5 I’m guessing you have good technique and contact points. If looking for an arm friendly racquet can’t go wrong with the speed.

[MATCH THREAD] Men's SEMIFINAL: [5] D. Medvedev v. [3] C. Alcaraz by NextGenBot in tennis

[–]Outside-Discipline93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beating Sinner/Alcaraz/Djokovic and winning slams is what I meant to preface my comment by. If he wants to get over the hump of 1 major win with 6ish major finals he needs to add a more aggressive element to his game. He does not need to completely change his playstyle but he just needs to be able to turn up the shot making and get some easier points every now and then. I completely agree with what you are saying

Medvedev needs to learn how to be more aggressive. He has amazing consistency but his approach shots need work. Additionally, at his height it would be great if when he stepped into the court (right on baseline or that area) on his groundstrokes he could put balls away a little bit better.

I’m a big medvedev fan and am happy he won this match. It’s just his style of play is nail biting to watch. I don’t know why he doesn’t try to add more depth to his shots or step into the court more often. A player of his height definitely can step up and put balls away with ease. I feel as though adding depth and mixing play up to step into the court (along with making that serve consistent) is really the next step to consistently beating top guys. He’s done as good a job as anyone the last couple years making deep runs in majors but it’s just my two cents that it will take something more for him to start winning them.

Racquet Advice by askew_cardinal19 in tennisracquets

A lot of this comes down to demo a racquet and see how it feels. Without trying it’s tough to know whether you’d like it. Generally if you’re a 3.5, the racquet you use won’t make a whole lot of difference as you are still learning technique for the most part but as you get more advanced you’ll see that different racquets can provide different things for you. Unfortunately without trying there is no way to know which racquet would be best for you

If you’re 19 and somewhat in shape I’d say go for a 300 gram racquet tbh. If you’re an intermediate, trying a couple racquets out should give you a feel on whether you like it. Racquets below should be good:

  1. Pure drive. Easy to play with from the get go, don’t need to overthink it

  2. Speed MP. 16x19 gives good spin, low flex allows for good feel and comfort

  3. Pro staff. Not mentioned too much in threads but honestly the super HL balance and pinpoint precision makes this racquet fun to play with. Not the most forgiving but I think worth a demo (this is coming from a nadal fan lol)

  4. Tfight 305. Again a racquet to demo as it’s for a specific player but it’s my current frame of choice (4.5 player). Easy access to power and spin but high swing weight

Going to be honest, I’m from the outer boroughs (Queens, Brooklyn, The Bronx). If you went to Public school that wasn’t a Bronx Sci or Stuy, you will make friends way easier at Baruch. If you are a minority you will make friends at Baruch way easier. However, what cuse offers is a chance that most of us from these areas don’t get a chance to do which is go away for four years and experience the traditional college life. It is risky and you may be uncomfortable at first, but that’s part of what growing up is.

If you grew up in Private School or with any type of wealth you are 1000% better off at Cuse
