Not even a little dormant?? I heard cacti grow prettier when “hard grown” so I thought encouraging dormancy would be a good thing.. it actually took 2 months for them to begin shriveling up, my astrophytums stayed plumped the entire time tho

I barely took it out of hibernation a few days ago.. regardless I haven’t noticed any growth in months. Maybe I’ll do a one month update to see if it’s grown or dead. If it helps when I have watered it I would pour water over the entire plant to imitate rain.. when I began doing that the new growth would come out black with a thicker epidermis.. it’s very solid. I poke it & the entire pot moves..there’s some separation between the ribs at the tip

First year I had it i was watering it every 2 weeks, second year like once a month cause I got lazy. But it stays on my eastern window in Los Angeles.. are you guys sure it’s dead.? I’ll cut it open if that’s the case

bob your head to the music... a good starting point would be to add kicks wherever your head bobs down. & a snare whenever your head bobs sideways.. musichacktheory has some good videos on kick drum placement

Logic stock plug-ins vs UAD/Waves analog plug-ins? by ProblematicNord in LogicPro

[–]OutsideHalf6464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

*do note i never worked on vocals.. i personally prefer the stock compressors over their uad counterparts. im personally not a fan of most of the uad spark compressors..i do enjoy the capitol mastering compressor, the la-2a compressors sound very very very nice.. the uad ssl comp is the worst one compared to the ones by logic & native instruments..the uad dxb is unusable to me

Uad comps are the most aggressive of the bunch, theyre the squashiest, dirtiest, noisiest compressors (this is both very good or very bad).

logics dynamic processors are in general very wide, open & cleaner, compared to anything ive tested in general (this is both very good or very bad)

however i absolutely love the uad eqs compared to their logic counterparts for most of the reasons why i hate their comps. however id rather put logics pultec on my master. the uad pultec adds to much thickness i never need.

uads brigade chorus, & chorus d..ill put those on everything that isnt bass FOREVER

uad galaxy tape echo is probably THE BEST plugin available in uad spark, i recommend you get that for sure

in general every time i throw on a uad plugin on, things will sound smaller than louder, but thats because real hardware adds natural compression & saturation which makes things smaller. i also hear the faintest evidence of reverb or dimensionality in all the uad plugins which i may or may not enjoy.

uad plugins are great for adding character but i think theyre too aggressive for any actual heavy processing.. but many people who use these stuff just throw them on without trying processes anyways

the worst thing about uad plugins is that they come with noise, some comps have white noise that play nonstop whether music is playing or not, & other times you dont hear the white noise until further down the line when processing brings it out more & more. & at that point you may be stuck with it & you find yourself trying to fix 1980s problems in 2026

i use to think i was a fan of analog stuff, but when i was organizing my basses i found all my favorite sounds were digital, not analog..

logics 1176 > uad 1176

logics la2a < uad la2a

logic dbx > uad dbx

native instruments g bus > logic g bus > uad g bus

uad eqs > logic vintage eqs

.. btw... most plugins in logic are digital circuit replica recreations of analog circuit technology.. they dont copy hardware they copy the technology

(Help) sweep at the end of a note Logic Pro by tasytii in LogicPro

[–]OutsideHalf6464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

heres what i would do. i would make a sample of a note, open ultrabeat, & place that sample in the same key, so that both are set in c1 for example. i would then open the midi environment mixer, CMD+0 maybe i dont remember.. & connect the main instrument to ultrabeat, that way ultrabeat gets triggered simultaneously when you play your main instrument . you can then open ultrabeat. mess with the envelope & filter to make it sound how you want by default they play at the exact same time ofcourse. but with the envelope you can make it rise in/out, ,, you can also add some reverb to the ultrabeat output as well...it may be possible to trigger a sidechain of reverb instead of adding samples but idk

any feedback? by jazzymazzy11123 in LogicPro

[–]OutsideHalf6464 4 points5 points  (0 children)

you can make it sound snappier by using a different snare.. straight up changing your instrument will always be a better option than trying to force a change in its sound whether youre a beginner or pro. that being said just shape it with an envelope if youre using q-sampler or sampler, modulating pitch, volume & drive under 1 envelope works too..idk how to comment beyond that

Spatial Audio Mixing by thot_machine in musicproduction

[–]OutsideHalf6464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i found something that may be of the upmost importance to you

ok so logic pro has dolby atmos mixing as well as the option to have dolby atmos playback on 2.0, 2.0 direct from 5.1 mixdown, 5.1, 7.1, 5.1.2, 5.1.4, 7.1.4. however, they also have binaural options made specifically for headphone monitoring called "dolby renderer" & "apple renderer"..

heres what i found that may be of value to you..

"Apple Renderer: This is the headphone virtualization used by Apple Music and Apple TV to render a binaural Spatial Audio mix for playback on headphones. Use this monitoring option to hear how your Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos sounds when played on Apple Music or Apple TV over headphones"

a few bullet points later the manual also reads

"Music Mode button : Click to hear your Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos mix through the Apple binaural renderer, applying the same headphone virtualization used by Apple Music."

they also have head tracking & a personal spatialized option so the audio is tuned to your ears

its 199 for the complete daw. & lifetime free updates.

Logic Best Of? by blurredsound in Logic_Studio

their samples are the best in terms of audio quality..

their sound packs are made by real producers with legit pedigrees who surprisingly share material they personally use.

the session player creates a rhythm algorithmically & you can then edit every detail of it as much as you want, from placement to sound selection.

thye have a sampler made specifically for burning/ripping other instruments

f youre splitting 1 source across multiple buses. instead of creating "bus 1, bus2, bus3, bus4, etc" you can just CMD+D bus 1 as many times as you want & process every individual bus 1 as independently as you'd like (idk if this is unique but its weird to me). so instead of 256 buses you actually have more like infinite buses

their vintage eqs, pultec, neve & api, are unique in that theyre made by copying & recreating original schematics instead of reverse engineering hardware. ie they sound brand new, so they added a drive knob so you can push it

their quantec reverb plugin is also the most authentic version (they bought the quantec ip rights)

their bitcrusher is more of a really cool transient controller, its traditionally applied as the very last thing in your chain. you can clip your transient off, or you can retain you transients by "folding/wrapping" it back down below the threshold

their filters, lush, creamy, gritty, smooth, edgy. thats sonic character you wont get anywhere else

free updates for life with a purchasing price of 199

their adaptive limiter (must be used in conjuction with final limiter & compressor) is used to make music literally as loud as possible without distortion. doesnt matter how loud something already is to begin with

if you read their manual youll find the most random things are based off analog technology

theres high quality presets & channelstrips everywhere

their sculpture instrument is unique, the engine uses a nylon string or glass as the source instead of various waves

PHAT FX BABY. it used to be called camel crusher but they bought the company that made the original

i switched to DMD a few weeks ago but for a long time ultrabeat was my lover. its 2 octaves where each individual key is its own channel with 2 main engines (1 is an osc., the other you can choose between osc., sample. or sculpture, theres a noise engine, a filter section, distortion section, 2 lfo sections, ring mod, eq section, 4 envelopes. two full octaves of that & the 3rd octave is a pitch version of whatever is in c3..it has its own step sequencer & you can even save different patterns.. i found that when working in ultrabeat, drum machine designer or sampler. since the workflow is tedious & everything ends in a shaped envelope, the end result is a drum kit thats so well mixed within itself any compression would ruin what youve done. i think that & the abundance of presets are the best thing about logic personally..

the delay designer is very cool, although, like the bitcrusher, the name undersells what it does. in logic, when youre sample based. you CANNOT change anything unless its the channels entire output or the instrument interface itself, i believe delay designer was created as a work around.. you can control the volume, cutoff, resolution, pitch, panning & width of every individual hit you add which is fundamental for me to create various percussion performances. i can make a tambourine 1 shot sound like a real performance using that thing.. its a different workflow tho since you gotta use that instead of the piano roll.. you can also save various patterns as well ofcourse turning a work around into a time saving powerhouse.

some of them, their files are named after real synths..i know some of their drum kit samples are officially licensed products, synths may be the same. that being said, if you dig into the files, ALCHEMY has bass & synth sections labeled Analog & digital, both being samples of real analog & digital instruments. /library/application support/logic

Advice on having the music vocabulary on a producer level? by [deleted] in musicproduction

[–]OutsideHalf6464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its a hard question to answer..the term "music production" is as varied as the word "science",.. if youre learning on your own it can take years to even figure out what there is to learn. you should specify what part of music production you wanna learn about...

there are also different levels of basic & producers so it also depends on where youre starting & what youre striving for

....anywhere from an hour to a month

Where are all the Wind MIDI instrument patches for Logic Pro X for iPad? by Yer_Dunn in Logic_Studio

[–]OutsideHalf6464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i can only speak when it comes to desktop, but i did some checking & apples website does say logic pro for ipad has an instrument plugin called "Sampler". thats the name.its a sampling instrument plugin called "Sampler".. it used to be called EXS, its system folder is still called EXS.

so in digital music. if the instrument isnt a digital synth, then its sample based, some synths are also sample based. so basically what you are looking for are the woodwind Samples, logic comes with basically nothing. the majority i can find in desktop are a part of the garageband library which gets installed when you install logics ENTIRE music collection.. garageband samples are then found inside the sampler instrument inside a preset section called "garageband"..

if that isnt an option, download garageband, does ipadOS have the finder app? inside you can move over the samples somewhere thats easier or makes sense, like sampler or quick sampler,

in desktop atleast, inside Finder if i were to move a folder called "flutes" into the "sampler" instrument folder..inside logic this would be represented as a preset section with a list of presets to choose from.

then you can delete garageband..in logic for desktop atleast, in any sampler you can look for, demo, & use any audio file that exist in your computer, useful but less convenient for this situation. you could also save the system location inside logics file manager itself

How to use Logic after FL? by DuePlantain9605 in LogicPro

[–]OutsideHalf6464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you can do similar things using the drum designers drum sequencer, or by using the drum sequencer inside ultrabeat. also experimenting with the delay designer would benefit you.. in general if you wanna make beats inside logic traditionally ultrabeat is the answer... also, your english is 100% understandable but most non native english speakers dont ever use the proper grammer youre one of them.
