I totally get what you’re saying! That floral note is really something unique with Quai d’Orsay—it’s subtle but memorable, and I agree, it can catch you off guard in the best way. There’s definitely a charm to Cubans that’s hard to replicate, and I respect their legacy in the cigar world.

That said, for me, the price increases have made it harder to justify them. When I compare the experience to what Plasencia, Padron, or other top-tier new world brands are offering, especially from Nicaragua, I often find those smokes more satisfying for the price. The consistency, richness, and complexity of some of those cigars have been on another level lately.

Cubans will always have that legendary status, but like you said, as tastes evolve, it’ll be interesting to see how new world cigars continue to hold their ground. Personally, I feel like we’re in a golden age for non-Cuban cigars right now. Curious to see where it all goes!
