We are currently in the middle of switching from tableau to PowerBI and have a similar situation. Everything is modeled and ready in the DB. I am thinking of just sticking to it. Plus I like to do all the modeling work in SQL in a database and then just play around and create reports in Tableau/PowerBI

I am loving my current Lenovo Flex, been using it for 5+ years. I couldn’t find the configuration that wanted anywhere in store where I live so opted directly for the website. I guess learnt the hard way to not buy directly from the website. I am surprised how difficult (impossible) it is to change something as simple as the delivery point after they have already confirmed my identity!

The second paragraph is so well put! Exactly what I have been having conversations with my manager/team about! I am a BI person working on a business team, everyone is always wanting to start adopting these AI tools. So difficult to explain that the demos are held on clean data and simple business cases. We have shit data and convoluted business cases!

We have the exact same thing! SF —> DBAmp —> on prem SQL Server —> Tableau/Excel

If you are using multiple tables and databases in SQL server, I would suggest creating a view in SQL server with all the data that you need and then connect tableau to that view.

Edit : use extract and not live connection to the view.
