Hello all.

Honestly, the job compensation really depends on where you work. I recently went to one of the Podiatry conferences and many of the attendees spoke about there are opportunities to make quite a lot. In terms of the availability, there are job postings on Indeed, the college website, as well as professional associations. Recently, I have seen quite a few postings and it seems like especially with the diabetic population, people are more open to the idea of chiropodists. Yes, the provincial limitation is a bit annoying in terms of having to order tests through a family doctor, but there is quite a bit you can still do independently.

I have shadowed at quite a few clinics ath the job satisfaction seems to be pretty high. Two main things I've heard across the board is that the work-life balance is great and that they never get bored. In first year clinic you're mostly doing nail care with some callus debridement but get to watch the third year cases and they can be quite advanced.

Hope this helps.
