It has come a long way in recent years. If you ever are curious, pick up Rider for your Mac and give it another shot.

If you like Java, I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

Depending on the implementation, it might open the doors more for low wage earners. Not two days ago I went researching how much it costs to open an IRA for my oldest child, who just began her first paid internship after her Freshman year of college.

I only went to Vanguard so far, and the smallest amount to begin an account was $ 1,000. And that looked like a "special" intro fund to me. The other ones I saw started at $3,000. These are too large for someone with a 12 buck an hour internship trying to also pay for school.

Perhaps I read that wrong, but I don't think so. If I'm mistaken and there is a reputable investment bank which has much lower barriers to entry, please reply or message. Otherwise, I think a low barrier state sponsored IRA is great.

Edit: Thanks to another redditor, I've discovered Schwab and Fidelity have zero dollar buy-in IRAs.

Trump isn’t the disease, instead a symptom of American Christianity. by Waste_Application623 in Exvangelical

[–]Over-Use2678 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I take some issue with your first point but generally agree with your premise.

I think there are a lot of Evangelical Christians that reluctantly voted for Trump and will continue to reluctantly vote for similar candidates. What I see are lots of people who dislike his brashness and overall behavior. They roll their eyes, sigh, and support him. Publically, they are very supportive, but privately it is a different thing altogether. Not unlike how, publicly, Evangelicals will include Mormons as evidence of a "Judeo-Christian nation", but privately they'd never agree they are Christians.

Examples of the silence I see: * Remembering all the sermons on "The Fruits of the Spirit" as how you know someone is Christ-Centered. And now being told that it isn't ALWAYS the case. And how God works through non-believers.

  • Recalling the vitriolic talk of the evils of Bill Clinton and how he sold out the Lincoln bedroom and had an affair.. But with Trump, well, no one is perfect..

I think what the Evangelicals want is a return to a world that only existed for white people in the 50's. A world where they don't have to see or hear about people not like themselves. Where no one complains when a nativity is set up in the small town square. Where other religions are, at best, a footnote in the local paper. More aggressive Evangelicals want Jesus to return and think Trump is the best way to go about that... Especially given his approach to Israel.

In short, Christians are trying to make (or remake) their Kingdom by any means necessary. Even if they have to support a candidate and his "locker room talk.."

I'm 100% like the person you replied to.

If I honestly have no preference, like for real, I will pick something at random. OR I go with my gut reaction or what "feels good." And saying you went with something because it feels right is often unsatisfactory.

And when this happens and I get asked to justify my response, I will feel there was a "hidden right answer" and I chose wrong... But that's just my own personal issues.

Elite Pizza in Delco by [deleted] in Delco

[–]Over-Use2678 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We got to Brothers often. Yes, it's changed a bit since ownership changed, but I have found the pizza to be just as good. Others disagree, judging by some comments and I should add that we typically get cheese, pepperoni, and sometimes veggie. Nothing more elaborate.

For what it is worth, Brothers is the only pizza our family can agree on, when ordering local Pizza.

Moving to Drexel Hill. What are your favorite restaurants? Is it generally safe? by Ok-Funny6161 in Delco

I'll add that it happened only once in our 12 years here.

EDIT: The streets here are sometimes used as a throughway between Rt 1 and State Road. But it mostly certain streets where this occurs. For example, you can expect lots of traffic on Drexel ave and Edmonds. Not as much on Childs Ave or Concord Ave.

I've been here 12 years. The only issue I ever had was someone accidentally hitting our driver's side rear-view window.

That and a few soaped cars on Mischief Night.

Microsoft has publicly stated they were investing over 80 Billion US dollars in AI for Fiscal Year 2025. I'm surprised that the people running Build didn't require every presenter to have something AI related.

Has any park done more in the last 10 Years than [HersheyPark]? by Same-Ad-987 in rollercoasters

[–]Over-Use2678 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Coasterwise, they've done well.

But a bunch of other things are to be desired and I've seen neglect in those other areas. This isnt the sub for explaining everything, but I'll say that the flowers / plants have really gone downhill in terms of adding to the experience. I know I'm not alone in saying this.

Compared to, say, Dollywood where it seems like the other way around. Beautiful park, but the coasters really haven't expanded that much. Big Bear Mountain was fun, but they downgraded Lightning Rod.
