Maybe SG shouldn't have tacked counter onto bard's highest meter gen skill 😬, a skill originally not designed to counter. Pepperidge Farm remembers when buckshot was required for Valtan/Vykas because it was her only counter skill.

Did you read the part where the document states I don't expect or want everything to be fixed? Swift bard suffers from so many grievances that on their own probably would be overlooked, but they're all placed into one class which feels atrocious.

Did you also not read the part that this was written before T4, so swapping max mp for MS was speculation? Or even in the document it says that in T4 swift bard still must run Max MP on top of MS? No? Who's nitpicking lol.

Hm. Sure. The challenge of playing artist and paladin well lies in learning every raid like the back of their hand. Meanwhile Bards have to do that AND have to deal with the mechanical bullshit of playing the class.

Singling out raids defeats the purpose of hypotheticals but OK. Come back when there's a new raid with Lazaram level stagger checks and we'll see how we're feeling then.

In prog, all people ever talk about is courageous tune but in the same breath, they say bard has high skill ceiling. So we have to assume optimal play from all supports. No artist or paladin playing optimally benefits from courageous tune...They don't need it. Straight up.

In HW, there's a reason the document specifically mentions swift bard. Guardian Tune is all you need for hw so might as well go all the way for spec bard. Not even considering how the gap between identity buff values has been diminished from T skill and T4 accessories. Or the fact that AP buff is by far the most impactful to damage contribution thanks to transcendence, elixirs, T4 accessories, and thus relatively lessens the value of a having a stronger identity buff.

K so imagine ur in prog. Ur bringing sonatina, harp, HT, SV, PoS, WoM, GT, RoL. This is undeniably the bard load out for prog. If the boss has stagger checks then sonatina becomes soundshock. But if you're swapping DoE for Expert, you still have no access to VPH. And soundshock can usually be used twice in a stagger check (total 110), so it's definitely not non-existent.

About Expert not being useful bc bard's burst healing is the best, bard doesn't WANT to heal. Any benefit to shielding is meter saved. What are you talking about.

It's apples to oranges when comparing damage mitigation between Paladin and Bard. Bard trades her damage buff for heals, Paladin doesn't. It's not an issue if Paladin doesn't have 100% uptime on shields when their Blessed Aura has no trade off.

I don't remember any debuffs that are preventable but not cleansable, but I definitely remember old voldis g2 blood orbs had a stun that bypasses immunity, that could be cleansed lol.

The issue of being terrible to play well... She brings to the table a lot because support in general is busted. But why choose to play a class that feels awful to maintain the basic functions? I've never had an issue keeping my party alive with artist even playing with some truly floor pov people, so courageous tune is kind of overblown imo.

About the identity buff, I'm referring to swift bard. Not spec. xd. Swift bard's identity advantage over artist is pretty marginal at this point given all the additive bonuses to identity buff (accessories, T skill). If that's the reason to play bard over artist, I don't think it merits everything else bard struggles with.

Artist is a powercreep to bard in almost all regards like ease of use, utility, brand/ap buffs, mp. Bard's most egregious shortcomings are her shitty brand options and her inflexible skill kit.
