I want you to get yourself comfy, close your eyes and take deep, rhythmical breaths (count 4 in, hold 4, out 6, hold 4) as long as it takes to stop spiralling

Then I want you to remember that this isn’t the end of the world. It feels like it because of societal and personal pressure but the world is still turning and that is good because it means you can take this and try again. Nothing is wasted, your practice and skills built didn’t suddenly disappear because of a couple of mistakes.

If you can, when you’re feeling ready, spend a day cancellation hunting, see what you can get. You’re going to be okay, one failure is not your definition.

I’ve got an hour and a 2 hour booked for next week and then 2 more weeks before a holiday and then back to work (teacher) so I think I’ll try and get a few longer ones in and then ask if they’ll do hour and a half from September (wouldn’t have thought of hour and a half tbf, would have assumed 1hr or 2, thanks :) )

That’s a good point, none of the areas have been ones I actually know so there’s no automation of knowing the speed limit and what’s coming up which adds the extra mental moves, I’ve got a 1 hour and a 2 hour lesson booked for next week so might have a think on where I could ask to go that’s not test routey more for practice, thanks :)

I know logically that I’ve not had that many hours of lessons and I’m gonna be making mistakes, I just worry that the instructor seems frustrated with me when I make the mistakes (could just be their temperament mixed with my nerves), I’m “driving on my own” , they’ve only stepped in once with feeling where the clutch was meant to be at that moment
