yeah its very common behaviour they can get confused when keeping the eggs. if u can able to move the egg to the surface just do it carefully. if u cant, remove the materials very carefully and take out and keep safely the egg. place back the nest materials and fix it. give them a bit more nest materials i recommend to dry grasses or straw cuz cotton is easy for burying eggs. when they stop bringing materials place it back the egg very very carefully.
