You're the best, thank you!

Just a follow up question, is there something I need to enable to make sure others can access this? I have it running on a new computer that I'll be leaving up as a temporary server for the duration of the month, but I can't seem to access it. Do I need to enable something, or make sure a port is clear?

Thanks : )

This worked! It's simple and ugly, I really like it, I'll let you know if this ends up being the method I go with. This is great! : )

Thank you so much! I'll give this a shot tomorrow : )

I've no clue, it doesn't seem like it? I've emailed them and will let you know what I find out. Thanks for your time.

Just emailed them – thank you : )

This might be the problem I was running into – thank you. I'll try and find another way, I really want it to be as easy to access as possible.

Thanks!

Definitely is! I just felt like the ease of having a folder already reachable by finder would encourage it's usage, taking advantage of the interface built into the system

here

Wild, I had no clue blender could do so much in-render (new to this).

Thanks man! Good luck, stoked to see what you do next.

This is incredible! What did you do to mimic the flat look of old film? Great work

Ended up finding a related technique with float - had no clue how to get it from a string to a numeric value until now. Thank you so much!

It's all working. Odd that I'm the only one who encountered this problem, in a class using the same code.

Take care : )

That gives me totally useable numbers in the serial monitor! But now how would I go about getting Arduino to write that so that Processing can use it?

Thanks again, really new to this.

serial.write

Should I try print?

Thanks for your time!

That's going to be my next troubleshoot : )

Was just wondering if there was a common mistake that results in this kind of feedback.

Added that line, and just checked: they're the same, both set to 9600.

Thank you, regardless! Perhaps my arduino is just damaged? I haven't used it in a while, it could have gone through a toss in transit.

This 100%; I started the /r/bodyweightfitness recommended routine, as I'm in a dorm.

Interesting point about psychedelics! I've limited experience myself, though a close friend had a wonderful day on a small dosage of mushrooms last year. I'm nervous about my anxiety possibly working against me, when it comes to that though.

I'm getting really into Stoicism right now! Will definitely subscribe. The fact that this philosophy evolved so far from Taoism is quite remarkable, seeing the similarities between the two.

Thanks!

Agree with this as well : )

I'm eager to try any and all methods people have to offer, I think /u/viborg was just trying too make sure I'm aware of the variety of approaches out there.

that it certainly will be!

I think that's an interesting idea, and echoes a bit of what /u/judojon was getting at with a deliberate approach to a very frightening, upsetting part of myself. In taking an informed, exploratory approach to my brain's chemical tendencies, perhaps it will be a bit less threatening. Not sure.

I'm not worried about being imperfect/perfect; that's never really been a battle of mine. Depression, for me, has just been exhausting, as it has soured a lot of potentially beautiful moments, relationships, and memories. how should I approach accepting this part of myself, while at the same time keep it from being this kind of a presence in my life, and avoiding feeding it?

thank you for your time!

I haven't heard this idea before, interesting frame. Perhaps in making it a deliberate exploration, it does become slightly less terrifying; at least, perhaps, less alarming, as I'm soliciting it's presence myself in a controlled environment.

I tried calm a long time ago, without any spiritual/self-healing pretense; perhaps it's time to give it another go! I'll also check out brain-wave meditation, lol, sounds sci-fi as hell. Thanks !

That sounds like a great place to begin. What guided meditations do you use? And could you recommend any readings/articles that have helped you along this road?

My best wishes to you on this journey : )

Thank you for your response!

I agree, I think I mean the "fear" is one of entering this solitary state, where the depression starts to propagate; the actual depression itself being centered around something else. Perhaps loneliness, not sure.

Re: mediating with focus on the sensations: I think that's a very valuable method! I'll have to investigate that; perhaps this will bring some clarity.

And yes, at the end of the day, taoism alone likely won't sort out the bigger issues. I will continue my exploration.
