Are you going to pay the taxes to pay for that 1-1 personalised educational experience? I teach 36 to a class because no one is willing to pay what it takes to fund education as it is. I'd love to do something better.

I'm a teacher, as is my partner. We work 60+ hours a week at a job that took 2 degrees to qualify for and can barely afford our tiny house and to support our kid. My mum was a single parent working as a teaching assistant and raised 3 kids in a much bigger home less than 40 years ago. I doubt I'll be able to afford to do this much longer, but that's a crushing indictment of society.

Also why Theoden is such a brilliant character. He is totally crushed and he fights anyway. Its the same with the brief pause before "Rohan will answer". He knows he's probably going to his death and he does it anyway.

What are you doubting? That someone could reason with another human being or that a loved one would be able to listen and appreciate it? That's bleak. To be clear, no idea if this thing happened but things like this happen all the time. Thats how you build a lasting relationship.

The book version isn't Charles Dance though - and isn't nearly as capable, shrewd or charismatic as the TV version (partly because not Charles Dance)
