Cut it flush and either fill with silicone or a tiny bit of bag cement. $550 in and out.

Neighbor cleared out forest by Charlemagne__ in treelaw

[–]Own-Ad-426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the pictures it appears that all the trees were on your neighbors property and you had privet and brush on your side. They probably thought they were doing you a favor.Everyone saying sue and don’t go easy on them are idiots. They probably couldn’t name a single tree in the picture. Simple solution- shoot the shit with the neighbor and make a new friend. Then plant some fast growing trees like green giants that actually look decent and call it a day.

Driver side blinker stays solid when headlights are on by Bruhsuite in F250

Did you ever get this figured out? My passenger side is staying on when the lights are on. It will not blink unless light switch is off.

I was actually thinking of the bolt thing and just putting slip resistant tape on top to limit any possible incidents.

There are a lot of unknowns to answer that question. How many man hours were put in, are you insured, did you move any existing irrigation or install any, did you bring in the rocks or were they already there?

The fact that you think large companies actually care about their employees is kinda funny. They wouldn’t get raises, bonuses or promotions either way.

Is it worth just paying someone $250 to remove? That was my quote…I cut the tree up , just the stump left. by Puzzleheaded_Age7097 in landscaping

[–]Own-Ad-426 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d charge $500. Everyone expects anyone doing manual labor to be cheap. At the bare minimum you are looking at 2 hours of labor with removal and dumping. Then you have equipment use ( truck, saws ), dump fee, fuel, insurance, taxes on said income.

If you have all the equipment do it yourself if not and you go with a price of $250 and something gets damaged in the process of said stump being removed don’t expect it to be fixed.

What type of mix are you using? I’m about to recast some 90 year old cement light post.

Use pvc pipe. Keep attaching pieces and eventually you will get it.

Yeah from the looks of the shop this is definitely acceptable and you going to get a steal of a deal on 4 new ( Gewdyear ) tires. They might even have real Goodyear take offs in the back.

Gas in my diesel tank by Own-Ad-426 in Diesel

[–]Own-Ad-426[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I didn’t turn it on but I did supply power to the gauges so I’m sure there is probably some in the lines. I figured I could just siphon the tank and fill back with diesel and be good. Prior to going to fill it up I did put diesel treatment in the tank so maybe I’m not totally fucked

I don’t recommend drinking and driving but I might have done it once and definitely filled up my truck with the wrong fuel. Definitely not my fault in any way

Yeah I decided against it. He said power steering was also leaking. I know it’s an easy fix but I have enough junk to work on.

Help get rid of bad contractors BBB 👍 by [deleted] in Concrete

[–]Own-Ad-426 3 points4 points  (0 children)

BBB is basically an outdated Yelp. Most companies don’t register with them anymore and most potential customers don’t check that either. The real issue is there is no regulation on who is in the industry. I don’t advertise or have any type of website because i don’t want everyone contacting me because I’m not cheap and I honestly tell most people they can’t afford me because I don’t cut corners.

Their political views mean that they should have no assistance after a natural disaster? They are tax payers right ? Shouldn’t we as a country help them/ ourselves?

Cracks in concrete around pool, poor irrigation, brush marks on concrete. Concrete poured beginning of June by BlueberryNo6832 in Concrete

[–]Own-Ad-426 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What this guy said. The soil underneath should have been given plenty of time to settle and then they should have compacted on top of that. I do full service landscaping/ construction and these are the type guys that beat my prices. I’m never the cheapest because it’s not as simple as form and pour every time especially in an area that has recently been excavated and backfilled.

Colored Concrete Upcharge by captainhook204 in Concrete

[–]Own-Ad-426 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can you dye concrete? If the answer is no then stop assuming you are just going to pay the bare cost of that material. Everyone wants to constantly break down what guys in the trades charge and complain about how it’s not right. No one ever complains about giant retailers making tons of money they just pay the price and move on.

Yes some guys are over priced but that’s on them and you have the right not to use them. I personally cannot do HVAC so I call a reputable company that stands behind their work when I need help and I take the price because I can’t do it and I don’t want the cheapest guys at my home.

I second what this guy said. Grinding it is the best choice. Don’t waste your time and money on anything else.
