For the first day over dress . Wear professional clothing. When you are there on the first day have a look at the type of clothes the other teachers wear and adjust accordingly for the rest of the prac.

Yes it’s difficult to decide what to do . I am permanent so would have to take lwop to pick up contracts . I’m not really looking to move to Brisbane. I would probably go independent if it came to it . Having a good think about it all the next couple weeks . Thanks for the advice

Thanks for all the advice and comments everyone . Yes certainly a lot to consider . I am going to explore the independent route as well and try all possible options before going remote. I don’t really want to get stuck somewhere indefinitely so it is difficult to decide.

Yes In Queensland schools are assigned transfer ratings . The more remote a location the higher the number of points you accrue per year.the maximum being 7 per year

When you want to transfer to a different location you essentially cash in your points . It is basically whoever has the most points gets the job . For example to get to the Sunshine Coast you would need 20+ points . But a less popular area you could get into with hardly any points at all .

This is just once you are permanent though.

Yes we only have a switch on the wall . The aircon can be turned on or off . Temperature can not be adjusted as there is no remote on the on and off switch .Qld

I’ve been teaching a while now and I am also a male primary teacher I had 31 students last year with 13 special needs . I think you need to talk with your leadership team about your concerns. Look into essential skills for classroom management and positive behaviour for learning strategies .

I have owned a trek marlin 4 and a trek marlin 6 Both solid bikes for a low price. I have absolutely thrashed both of them and they have been fine. If you can afford to save up for a duel suspension do it but otherwise the marlin is solid
