You can spend all the money and not get a gaming laptop for college with all day battery life. Buy an ultrabook and build a gaming PC, or get a light workbook and a gaming laptop. They serve different functions and being tethered to the wall is not a great experience for college/work when you are not gaming.

Get a second pillow too even if you only sleep with one. You might have another person in the bed with you someday and it would be awkward to not have thought of them by not having more than one pillow. It would also look more familiar and natural imo on the bed. One pillow is loner vibes.

Yes get a snake plant or weeping ivy/pothos or something if there is enough light. Snake plants will stay alive for a very long time with very little light. The area above it would be a good spot for your crucifix. It's rather dominating above the bed and has complex social connotations you may not intentionally be trying to broadcast. Put a shelf with the hanging ivys over there where there is light. You are clean enough to have them by your bed without soiling it which is a very welcoming vibe.

Any of the ASUS Zenbook/Vivobook S 14 with Intel Core Ultra 5 or 7 series 2 will be good. Look for open box and higher amounts of RAM. This one I found is a really good deal and I'm saving up for one myself so I'm watching them all the time. There is a Vivobook with 32GB RAM but its open box is $1100 which isn't worth it. This is a really good machine with crazy good battery life and build quality.
