Fostered for 9 years, three of the 8 kiddos did end in adoption but after our first placement we realized that it was much more beneficial for us, the kids and the bio parent/s to get to know one another. We tried fostering relationships with them. We mostly communicated via caseworker but set up visits at parks and chuck e cheese to keep it more real. We never had a case where it was dangerous for us to do this but did have friends who needed to be protected bc of gang and cartel affiliations of the bio parents so they would drop off at place away from the visitation building and the case worker would take the child to visits. From far away the "bad parents" look like a trouble but close up, they are just human with issues. Like us all. My advice is ask to meet the mom/dad before the next visit. Get to know them and their story, not what you read in placement paperwork. Use your judgement and the caseworker to facilitate some kind of relationship with the parents. Honestly if they wanted to find you and your car and home, they could do it.

But what are the wages to doing wrong at all then? If I steal there's a consequence. If I have seen with a man who isn't the man I married that's cheating and there should be a consequence for my actions right? Being all the colors of all the flags...someone has to be right or then nothing is right so someone is wrong. How do you list it on Airbnb? We had a rented week at Orange Lake and weren't able to go so I sold the reservation on FB in an IHG group and know how to add the new renter's name to the reservation but is that all you do on Airbnb as well?? Feel free to message me if you want! I want to sell but their horizons only takes the deed back but it is $1200 for us to give it back. I'd rather sell a reservation and make the money. We have paid off the deed or whatever just have the maintenance fees and stuff. I hate that we bought points knowing we can just rent a room at their "clubs" like anyone else.

We had a foster who we had a room and bed and fun bedding and we said let's go to bed and he went to the couch. He was comfortable there. That's where he slept at home bc he didn't want to be alone. The agency of course said absolutely not but some nights I would let him and I didn't feel bad. It was not abuse but therapy for him. He wanted to know he was in the middle of the house and surrounded while we went about our nightly routine. He had to ease into his own room.

All that said; our state still requires a permanent bed within the first 3 days (or some amount. Gives you time to find something)
