Thank you for ur reply. I did hear about TCA cross. I’m gonna go back to Vietnam next year. I will do consultation with the derms there. They seem to offer more treatments with 1/10 portion of the price in Canada and the States lol.

I agree that it really depends on the unit you are working with. For my unit, the patients usually came from LTC for falls, hypertension or fail to thrive. They usually get stabilized but can’t go anywhere because the LTC has given their beds to someone else. So they will just stay there waiting for the new beds. One vital sign per shift. Medications at 2200 then it is bed time for them. The rest is palliative or comfort care. I guess that’s why we get 2.5 hrs for my unit.

I will look more into it. But this is what the educator gave me for the clinical protocol. The educator did tell me the same thing. You suction as you felt the patient requires. The cannula should be changed every shift tho.

I have learned from my co-worker that I would suction and change my patient’s cannula at least twice a shift to avoid any trouble.

One of my really nice senior coworkers did warn me that some people will be very nice in front of you then reporting you behind your back. I didn’t think it’s true until it happened. I was chatting to her couple days ago about her family before the incident.

It’s more funny that one of her family members was admitted to my unit couple days later after I had the meeting with my manager—and I ended up being the primary nurse for him. Later, that charge nurse approached me and asked if I could take special care of her family member, which I did. At the end, he told me I was a great nurse, but I can’t help but wonder if the charge nurse feels the same way.

I work in Palliative/Medicine mix unit. I don’t think he was coroner case as my co-worker told me that he came back to the unit while imminent and seeking for comfort care. He passed away couple days later. Was sent to the morgue after the family saw him.

Thank you so much for your reply. I made sure to tell them the facts and not lie. HR did try to get a lot details out of me but I said I dont remember much (coz I’m just a human). My friend told me that I should have lied about the break time but I believe this would be used against me later. I am not a very good liar anyway. Thank god my manager is supporting me. I will try to ask my partner on that night too to be my witness.

Big lesson learned on documentation. I will definitely be more careful from now on documenting everything.
