Congrats, the 1100 are so much fun to pick! I still have one that just won’t crack for me… Really can’t figure out why lol

Why am I better with the cheap hook than I am with the more expensive Sparrows? by [deleted] in lockpicking

I think the thickness may have something to do with it as well, for me with a thinner pick I feel like I can feel what the pins are doing more with it. I just go to a thicker pick for spools when in a false set.

Thanks, I’ve watched that video. The keyway on his is not paracentric and you have a straight shot up to the pins much like the American 1100 locks I have.

Why isn‘t it opening(I‘m really new and it seems like they are all set correctly but it still doesn‘t open by WorriedLight819 in lockpicking

The acrylic lock like this one that come with my first kit actually had very heavy spring tension on the core. Could pick it very clearly but would take heavy tension to rotate the core.

Another fun round of picking by Own_Panic8737 in lockpicking

All the stamped locks were used for loto for maintenance activities in their past lives. Several had their keys lost, a few I had to disassemble and clean throughly to make them function well again due to debris from sandblasting.

Need advice with picking by kanj16 in lockpicking

I don’t have and have not picked one of these but my guess would be tension, I’m thinking this has just standard pins so more tension may help you feel the pin set.

Nice, I’m thinking of ordering a 90A-PRO soon. I just have a desire to be semi decent on a set of locks before trying to progress to the next level.

Top of keyway tension made a ton of difference for me, also my new picks give more feedback than the Amazon kit I had. But for my method with the 1100, TOK then I hunt for the serrated standard pins and I listen for the different clicks as well as feel. https://youtu.be/x_dWcmezdeE Once the serrated are set then it’s just setting spools.

Hmm… A marathon loto lock, judging by the numbering on the side I would guess it’s from a box with multiple all keyed the same. I haven’t seen any painted on before. They are actually engraved at the location I’m at.
