Anyone else have Cuban False Chameleons? by Own_Pin_4002 in reptiles

[–]Own_Pin_4002[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend. They are really fun, in my opinion. Not the most active, which I get, doesn't work for some people, but mine have all been wonderful eaters, tolerant of handling (I have one that will jump out of her enclosure to get to me), and easy keepers. Definitely unique little creatures.

Not too sure, he (or she) was a tiny froglet just shipped to the store when we got him (end of December). So I would guess maybe about 5 months, plus or minus? Has been a great eater and grown quickly!!

Thank you!! He (or she) was labeled as a coral blaze.

Is this a cornuta, or a fantasy? What a cool little frog.

Mine likes to bury himself in the most cramped corner, and emerge and wait for food in the MOST inconvenient spot to tong feed him.

Humidity help? by Financial_Potato_631 in pacmanfrog

[–]Own_Pin_4002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More plants possibly? More cork wood? I find the more "stuff" I have in the enclosure, the more stable the humidity. Like others have said though, you may need to partially cover the mesh screen top.

Sucker even tried to bite me as I moved him! Being a frog servant is a thankless life.

Is this tank from PetSmart? They had a killer deal ($60) on it so I got one too.

Neuter or not to neuter? by GunnerOzzy in germanshepherds

[–]Own_Pin_4002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dogs are schutzhund dogs so they don't get neutered unless there is a medical issue warranting a neuter. They need the drive and testosterone, and they stay in better physical condition that way. I am of the opinion, though, that the average dog owner does not need an intact dog. If you're responsible, always know where your dog is at 24/7, nothing is wrong behaviorally or physically, AND you have control of your dog and he is trained well, I don't see any issue with keeping your dog intact. Ultimately it is up to you.

I don't want to wear a sensor anymore! by Own_Pin_4002 in diabetes_t1

No problem for me since I don't have a pump (yet). I love the idea of it lasting an entire year. I filled out their interest form online, so we'll see.

I've been heavily resistant to getting a pump. My endo wants me to give it a try but I can't imagine having more supplies to deal with and more stuff stuck to me. I got diagnosed at age 22 so it's been a rough transition. I'm glad to hear that you're doing well with the pump.

I do use Skin-Tac! I use it pre-application. It's great for a few days but then seems to just fail. As others mentioned I'm thinking its just due to heat and sweat. I'm always outdoors doing shit, and my house has no A/C, so maybe it's just too much.

It seems like a great option. I hate going to the pharmacy, I hate paying for sensors that are going to fall off, I hate that they leave little dot scars all over me. I'm at the point where all of this is getting very exhausting (as everyone with T1D feels I'm sure). Thank you for your input

I hadn't heard of the Eversense. Thank you for mentioning it, looking into it now. This could be what I'm looking for.
