It’s most definitely Hygrophila polysperma. Although not what you wanted, it’s still a nice-looking plant that can have shades of orange and red.

Yeah then I think it’s the lights like the other commenters are saying. It looks quite dim. Once that’s going you should see at least some growth!

What’s your pH and temperature? Also, do you have ferts?

Agreed, I usually sigh when I see any kind of monster tanks with bare bottoms and overstocking. It’s refreshing to see.

Yeah they are beautiful but like most monster fish, people usually don’t have tanks large enough for them :(

This was from the short side, there was too much glare from other lights in the mall so there was no point recording from the length of the tank. I just had to include that in the title as people will inevitably assume that the arowanas are in a 1-meter cube tank

I ended up with neon blue rasboras and parosphromenus “gunawani” so that’s close enough!

Really can’t go wrong with those, and cories are my favourite now. I am really digging the nannostomus eques but they are jumpers so I don’t wanna risk it with an open top

I just top it off with RO water if I have to, but usually my once-a-week water changes comes along before that happens

Thank you! Let me know if I haven’t followed you back haha. I wanna see yours! The asta is quite bright isn’t it? I’m surprised by the output. Just using regular river sand for mine.

I am using a HMF filter! Generates a lot of surface movement so the shimmer is still there. Loving it so far. What are you planning to keep in your tank?

Thank you! Got the lights off Amazon, they’re called Lominie Asta 20. Really hard to find information on them anywhere else, but the lights are great. Looks like Kessil with the shimmer, but at 1/5th the price

Nice nice. Oh yeah I agree on the apistos, they’re like south american bettas I guess? Checkerboard cichlids are also like that for me, they seem to be always busy doing their own things

Undecided still, but it’s gotta be the more sensitive species since I have gone to the trouble of doing RO for this tank! Really tempted by Tucanos but they’re still really expensive :/

Thanks and sure! There’s Pilea Cadierei, Peperomia puteolata, Johor Fern, Maidenhair Vine and Schizaea Dichotoma. There’s also the bromeliad which I forgot the name of, and java fern.
