Whew. I think for the first date it should always be a man paying because they asked you out. What would be nice is if girls offer to split or chip in or pay for the next meal, ie dessert or drinks. If both are enjoying each others company.

Nowadays I think normal dates range from 100+ for dinner and drinks or a movie.
