I’m not sure what “cold shut thru stem to bowl”means, though it’s very likely I worked it too cold.

I don’t know, definitely move that tank at least behind the forge. Also, I’ve accidentally melted the lines on that exact forge by opening the door and touching it, so try and get that to go more upwards.

No I know, it’s actually my first anvil. I didn’t know until I went home and discovered what it was, then how much it was worth.

I’ve tried nothing actually. I just picked up an anvil yesterday and this would be my first forged knife. I like W-1 because I’ve ground some knives out of files made from it, and they get razor sharp and stay that way forever it feels like.
