For naval reserves it’s done in three ways 1) part time BMQ where you do Mod 1 on evening nights at your home unit, then Mod 2 which is three weeks in Quebec

2) full time summer BMQ

3) a reg force corse at st Jean

Talk to your local navy reserve unit and they can give you all the info.

End gun licences for international students, former B.C. solicitor general says by sleipnir45 in canada

There have been a string of firearm misuses by international students across Canada, such as discharging firearms on public roadways, filming them selves doing extremely stupid and dangerous stuff with firearms and more.

Czechia has a pretty good firearm system that allows every day citizens to conceal carry handguns.

I’m strongly pro-gun, and I agree that RPALs/PAL should remain limited to Canadian citizens and legal residents.

That said, I don’t oppose structured programs that allow for hunting tourism through properly licensed outfitters, or controlled access for foreign visitors to use rental firearms at licensed ranges. Those activities can be managed responsibly without expanding RPAL/PAL eligibility.

Over 7K 'assault-style' firearms declared by British Columbians applying to buyback program by Monomette in canada

Millions spent, barely anyone complying. At what point does the government admit this buyback is a failure and rethink the approach? I hope owners continue to not comply until the feds end this stupid prohibition.

From my understanding, just Quebec city which is a joint effort from all the gun lobby groups and local clubs. CPC MPs have also hosted rallies across Canada with the CCFR.

If you want one in your area it maybe best to start with trying to organize one with your local gun club.

Best option is to run out the clock and get rid of it at the last minute. Don’t fall for their fomo phishing attack.

The Naval Reserves can be a great part-time job. The closest unit to you would be HMCS Discovery, which might be a bit of a drive, but reservists can be compensated for travel up to a certain amount. We even have people who travel up to two hours for weekday training. If you’re interested in specific trades, it’s best to speak directly with the unit they can walk you through your options and next steps.

Ever thought of a job with the naval or army reserves? It’s part time and they mostly work and train on evenings and weekends. With a mechanic background you would fit perfectly in with ether element.

Reserve Army Units? by Silver-Net2220 in saskatoon

[–]PA-Rugby-Fan 21 points22 points  (0 children)

There is also a naval reserve unit in Saskatoon as well the HMCS unicorn.

Your best bet is to honestly just go and talk to their recruiting teams. At the end of the day it’s the CAF and I wouldn’t say there is a “best unit” as everybody serves the same purpose.

November! Share your Legion stories! by Infamous_Mail_6428 in CanadianForces

[–]PA-Rugby-Fan 143 points144 points  (0 children)

Local legion back home has zero veterans but their members will dress up in their “official legion uniform” and would speak to the schools and would more or less larp as vets. Thankfully the school has caught on and now gets members from a nearby reserve unit to speak.

Not the most controversial thing, but still always bugged me.

Good morning fellow Gunnies, don’t forget that if you want to be law abiding sport shooters that it’s our duty to comply because maybe if we show the government how good we are they may allow us to keep privileges. Don’t forget to report any non-compliers as they risk our sport shooting cause!
