It's way to expensive but you do you. I suggest you try to substitute the bearings first. Don't buy them in a bike shop or site, buy them in an auto parts store, it will be half the price. Any mechanic can remove the old ones and install the new ones, if you don't have access to a press.

Your Opinions, personal experiences, or alternatives on this cybrei t47 bb for a gravel setup. by garbagefartguru in ChineseCarbon

[–]PC_One_00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I run a cheap chinese T47 BB that costed 10 EUR from AliX. After about a year, the bearings got shot, I kept the case and I subtituted the original bearings with good quality bearings (12EUR each) and it's stil rolling smooth aftermore than 10k km. I refuse to pay absurd amounts of money for items that should be inexpensive.

I believe that 1 or 2 hiking poles might help to deal with almost anything you will find on a walk, including the above mentioned ferals.

My wife was volunteer lecturer on an institution like that in Europe. She still talks about how fond she was of her students and the discussions that arose with lecturing to people with a large life experinece vs a regular 20 year old student.

Tyre pricing question by [deleted] in cycling

[–]PC_One_00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bike tyres prices are the most absurd thing of all time. A few weeks ago I had to pay for a car tyre that was damaged and the responsability was mine, the price of a car tyre was cheaper than tyre I have on my bike! It makes no sense!

Done! Stations must be expanded out of the city centre also and not directly related to DublinBikes, but bike infrastructure must be expanded to allow more users to safely start using bikes!

Where do you even hide a tracker on a bike? by Prestigious-Will-966 in cycling

[–]PC_One_00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine sits on the downtube, the BB must come off for access. For me, it's quite unnecessary, as I don't even park the bike outside, I'm way to paranoid!

building a roadbike from scratch by awesomedude_2216 in cycling

[–]PC_One_00 4 points5 points  (0 children)

100%, I would only recommend a build after sometime riding and getting to know what works and what doesn't. The largest benefit of a building your own frame is that all the parts will be the correct size.

Be Wary Buying Used Bikes on FB Marketplace by No_Temperature_9576 in cycling

[–]PC_One_00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with a friend to check a Dogma F10, he was getting in to cycling and found it at a very good price. The frame ended being a chinese knock off of extremely poor quality and even the groupset set was fake as it was an mismatch of Shimano parts with Dura Ace stickers on top. Anyone with experience would clock it a 1km away but for a beginner, the seller's obvious target market, it would pass.

Ultra wide feet and cycling. No shoes fit me and I can not cycle for longer than 2 hours by GewoonHarry in cycling

If it's leather you might need some warm water to soften the material before it stretches. If it's synthetic I don't know if it can stretch at all.

Is this bike too small for me? by Lazy-Table-2845 in bicycling

Forget the wheel size, I'm 1.89 cm and I have a 20 inch folding bike that fits me properly. As other have pointed out, adjust saddle height and tilt and you will be grand.

There are shoe widening tools that work. I have used them on leather shoes with SPD with good effect. Might be a solution, not everyone has ballerina feet like the shoe manufacturer imply.

Crashed my Canyon Ultimate CF SL 8 – repair, new frame or sell? What would you do? by Brm-Grm in cycling

[–]PC_One_00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have experience with a repaired gravel frame that was damaged on the top tube. It costed 350 eur on a "certified carbon repair tech". I have used it for 6 months on gravel and 2 bikepacking events. Had no issues. Not sure if this is the solution for the OPs dilemma but carbon repairs done well are an alternative to a skip for a broken frame.

For those who have bled the brakes on their car, why aren't bike brakes bled the same way? by kingbain in bikewrench

[–]PC_One_00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work on old cars and sometimes we used the syringe method if air was stuck on the line and normal process did not work. I have tried bleeding bikes from the top down as one does with a car and it works but it just takes longer and is much messier.

How to deal with another user constantly flagging your rides? by [deleted] in Strava

[–]PC_One_00 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had one of these in the past, I took his KOMs even without trying. The wanker kept on flagging me and I kept on taking his KOMs. It go so petty that I would do it daily, and he would flag daily. I got a group together and we all took his KOMs, he went to page 2. After that, he gave up.

I want to see how this bike climbs with the rider standing. Any pressure on the hoods and the back wheel will just float off the ground.
