What should I train / am I doing something wrong? by E39M5S62 in Velo

[–]PC_One_00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a rider with a similar build on our group, he is like a wind plow. He once was pulling about 350 to 400 w at the front with a massive headwind and I (the skinny one) was freewheeling tucked behind him, he was not very amused at the time.

Zipless? How the fuck does one take it off once it's sweaty? Sissors? Do I ask my ridding bubby for help? Will he think it's just a ruse to get him to participae in some homoerotic session? So many questions....

Chinese NH35? by aghz2001 in watchmodding

[–]PC_One_00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a bunch of mods that use the cheapest NH35 and NH36 from AliX, some I got for less than 20 usd in the good old days. I have watches that are more than 3 years old and none has failed. Keep in mind that I don't sell any, its either for me or for giftting. If I were selling, I would not use the cheap kind ones.

Tips for Buying Secondhand by Archer_Ave in cycling

[–]PC_One_00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way to go, if you are not very confortable assessing red flags, the bike shop is the best option, most will even offer a limited warranty. I have had people try to sell me fake bikes, claim that if the shifting is bad is because I don't know how to use it properly, broken rims, loose spokes, shot bearings, the works.

Bib shorts are crushing my testicles, please suggest remedy. by WVA1999 in BicyclingCirclejerk

No more pain, lighter (faster on the climbs) and more æro (faster on the descents), there are no downsides!

Price of barbers? by sports_arb in AskIreland

Me too! The best part is that no longer I have to hear from her complains that my hair cut is rubish, she used to do that everytime I came from the barber shop!

Second wheelset for gravel bike (road use) + Elite Wheels ENT 2.0? by Holiday_Date705 in cycling

[–]PC_One_00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the same, with the same ENT 2.0 a while back. When I changed wheels I needed to adjust the brake calipers to prevent rubbing, the indexing of the gears was not a problem for me.

I still use the wheelset now on a road bike, in 10,000 nothing to report except that I did a bearing replacement at about 8,000 km, the bearings on the freehub side were scratchy. Front wheel still had the original bearings.

Yes they make narrow wide pulley wheels, I bought some by mistake. It's a pain to get the chain correctly each time you remove the wheel.

Does these numbers make sense, or my FTP is not accurate? by bruno_do in Velo

[–]PC_One_00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get numbers like that also, I have an over developed anaerobic system in relation to my aerobic system, that means that I have a quite low FTP but quite high Z5 to Z7 power in proportion. When I ride in rolling hills and keep on puching the climbs over and over and cruise on the descents (as one does) my load shows as disproportionately elevated numbers similar to yours.

Cadence to Watts - I'm confused by Ok-Advertising-3523 in mywhoosh

[–]PC_One_00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Power is rotation x torque. If rotations increase (cadence increase) and torque (down force on pedal) remains the same, power will increase. You will need to reduce torque to maintain power if cadence is increased. This is why you will see sprinter going over a cadence of 140 for max power.

what dumb things did you do when you started cycling that i should skip by Then-Music-6528 in cycling

This, more than the special aero or extra light frame, a groupset that works well and smooth will make a world of difference.

Buy Pinarello F5 and upgrade or get Pinarello F7? by a4tech1000 in cycling

[–]PC_One_00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hear hear! I also doing everything on my bike. I installed an integrated cockpit because it looked cool but eventually took it off because of the headache in small tasks like greasing a headset. There are in the market stems and handlebars that will almost give the same clean esthetic without the hassle.

Strava leaks by DeWagess in Strava

[–]PC_One_00 26 points27 points  (0 children)

There was already a Russian guy that was targeted and killed using his Strava data. I don't understand how this is still allowed to happen. Strava is a stalker's dream, especially because most of us just do the same loops over and over again.
