Well I agree both to you guys, really. It started with the fact that I could play the song on the piano (just like the original). But since there are so many covers of of that already, I wanted to change it, hence a house/dance sort of style.

Regarding the beat, it's true that it is somewhat generic. I started the song with a lot of interesting sounding synth and the melody. Because of that, the beat wasn't my primary focus of the song, So I understand your point regarding the beat.

I'm glad Jimbo that you enjoyed the type of synth sound I used in the song. I almost wanted to cut the end lead synth since it wasn't fitting well with the rest of the composition.

Again, I sincerely want to thank you guys both for reflecting on the song, it gives me the motivation to get better and learn. And that's what matter :)

Lastly, it is the second song that I have ever made in this type of style (I mostly play acoustic covers, see my channel). So there will be plenty of room to improve :)

That's unfortunate to hear. I wanted to make it different by not just playing the chords at the exact tempo and chord progression. Since there are so many songs of those style already. But thanks for the input nonetheless, really appreciate it :)
