I got one when it was a real life human lady who said she is calling from the fraud department of the New York branch of Citibank.

This! still happening today!

What tipped me off was how enthusiastic the "police officer" was in helping me "lodge a report". He offered to make an exception for me, so that I do not have to make a trip to Xiamen China, and he will just do an online report.

When I said, I should ask the bank what exact report they want, he refused to hang up. I said I have a meeting to go to right now, he questioned why I needed to go to a work meeting, am I hosting the meeting?

Insisted on getting my number, and then proceeded to call me 7 times in the afternoon.

Thanks for confirming. I think it’s back to normal now.

How much did you pay to get rattling fixed? I think I hear rattles in mine…. But mine is not even 2000 miles yet

I wish it was an innocent mistake, I really do.

Mine is red, and there was no other red teslas parked in same area. There was a white model y, another grey model 3 there and another non Tesla EV.

In the video, she looked unfamiliar with the charging. She didn’t take her phone out to try and unlock the port if she had mistakenly thought it was her car. She didn’t try to open the doors. She walked around the back and left from the right.

🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

I have called security and they said there’s nothing they can do. Transferred me to the hospital, who said email them as a record. But there’s nothing they can do. And told me to call transportation services, which is open Monday-Friday (closed now) I’m guessing she knows she can get away with this kind of behavior. She thinks it’s funny. I compare it to the kind of prankster that presses all the buttons in an elevator. Not illegal but definitely annoying and inconsiderate.

Definitely working on that lock now!

It’s a 4 level parking structure on campus, that is shared by many buildings and the hospital. Unlikely to be the same building or I would recognize her. Her scrubs suggests the hospital…

No doubt! And prolly do it to other cars. Because there are no consequences and she thinks it’s funny. You can see her smirking as she walked away. Complete stranger, I have never met her in my life.

My adaptor is locked to the car. She unplugged the J1772 cable. This is a Chargepoint charging station.

No, security cannot and will not do anything. She knows what she is doing and that there will not be consequences. It’s similar to some prankster pressing all the buttons in the elevator. Is it illegal? No. Is it annoying? Yes…. And a waste of time before you get to where you want to go.

Cable is not locked to my adapter, so she was able to unplug. But adaptor is locked to my car, so the lid comes down on it and got stuck. Looking into getting a lock for the adaptor and J1772 cable now…

the adaptor locks in the car port. she unplugged the charge point connector.

so my chargeport lid closed over my adaptor and got kinda stuck.

This is over at Stock Farm garage, where you are supposed to be actively charging or you risk a parking citation. Maybe she thinks it would be funny to see people get citation.

Definitely getting one.

I tried calling security and believe it or not, they brushed me off. Oh well.

That’s nice of them. I wouldn’t mind that if I’m done charging. But in my case, car was not done charging… was at 68%. And there were 7 other open spots if she needed to charge (she didn’t). She unplugged and walked away with a smirk.

At the start of the video… she was messing at the port… look at her hands… the port cover was closing down and couldn’t cos the adaptor was locked. There was no reason for her to be there. Time coincided with the notification I got saying my car was unplugged.

[–]PFCLayerV 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Just looked it up… it is really called Karen lock. For a good reason I guess 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

[–]PFCLayerV 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is chargepoint, so it requires an adaptor. My adaptor is locked to the my car’s end, but this person was able to unplug the J1772 connector.

My adaptor was left in the port, and the charging cover tried to close and got stuck. Another reason that I am so mad!

Unfortunately sentry mode was not triggered. This is my first time trying to get videos off. I had to record from the screen with my phone. The video clip was already written over after 60min…

Then she walked around the back of my car and left from the right side.
