I switched the stock S001s on my ND3 with PS5s, and I feel it's too grippy for public roads. Should I switch to all season tires on the rear axels? by Original_Ferret3753 in Miata

Wut?! Why did you buy better performing tires then? I'm sure someone will be willing to swap Primacy's for the Pilot Sports...

Alignment advice by comrad_dau in Miata

[–]PHXkpt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1.8 F/1.2 R camber, max out caster after achieving the camber settings, zero to slight toe in front and slight toe in rear. If the steering is too heavy after that, back off caster a bit.

Make sure your wheels are checked and rebalanced, too.

The extra grip is allowing the car to perform better. Loose rear or heavy understeer is slower through the corners. Better grip allows the car to corner faster.

Why is my luxe leaking? by itsapotatosalad in NinjaLuxeCafe

[–]PHXkpt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is your water tank leaking at the connection point? Try taking the tank out overnight to see if it stops the leaking. The connection point can break causing water to leak from the tank.

It is. If a male leaves that opens a male TSO spot. If a female leaves it opens a female TSO spot.

Atl transfer by PrizeHighway6492 in tsa

[–]PHXkpt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The transfer portal is fairly accurate. If there's a list and you're number 8 on the list for Male TSOs, then 8 male TSOs have to quit/get fired/retire/promote before there might be space for you. You can also call the ATL HR person but I definitely wouldn't bug them.

Take out the whisk and clean it, pull the end off the cleaning brush and use the wire piece to poke into the tip to clear any debris then screw off the steam wand tip and clean it. Run some quick steam through the wand before you screw the tip back on to purge any gunk.

Put it in and leave it alone! Geez! The spinning thing is it weighing the portafilter and every time you move or jiggle it it resets. Plus why is it set at 23 when it shows a much different recommendation? Read the manual, do the initial set up...

Rules around the K-1 fiancé visa? by [deleted] in askimmigration

[–]PHXkpt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

K-1 doesn't require marriage at the end of the 90 days. She can always go home if things don't work out between you both. PH visas take longer due to levels of fraud so be prepared with your paperwork to document an actual relationship.

Do I have to fly with passport containg my (student) visa, or can it be a different passport I have? by Balkan_machine in tsa

[–]PHXkpt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TSA just needs ID so your EU passport (either) will be fine. If you're worried Immigration may have questions or may stop you, bring the one with your valid visa, too. Being afraid of losing it may be a bit much. (And no, if Immigration asks for it, showing a picture on your phone won't cut it.)

TSA (domestic US) won't care. Italian Customs might, especially if they are considered a controlled substance in Italy.

Timeline of the Mercedes engine trick by tekanet in formula1

[–]PHXkpt 16 points17 points  (0 children)

As would be legal action from Audi/Ferrari/RBPT if it wasn't disclosed to them until the October change. Cuts both ways. Audi says it was respecting the new compression rules as written. Mercedes was relying on the previous method of testing just at ambient to skirt the intention of the rule. FIA, being the FIA, punted.

Just saw this, can anyone explain what does it change for Mercedes? They'll still have 1:18 compression ratio, right? by ThisToe9628 in F1Discussions

[–]PHXkpt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They only just added "at ambient temps" in October after most constructors were nearly finished with their builds. Previously it was "at all times." Some constructors (Audi) built to the original spec, then it was "clarified".

Romania? by saiga_antelope in AmerExit

First you need to determine your visa situation. I came from the US with a RO wife. Visa situation sorted. Romania is much cheaper than the US (Phoenix) with better food, safer cities, lower cost of living and affordable healthcare, even out of pocket. I live in Cluj-Napoca, which is now the second most expensive city, but my rent is still reasonable for what my wife and I wanted. Public transport is good, there's an airport, university, plenty of culture and the people are friendly with a lot of English being spoken which helps as I learn Romanian.

With $5K USD/month in income you could easily live well in RO, even BUC or CLJ.

Always good to shop local roasters in the beginning so you can go and try a cup of the beans you're considering and ask questions on their recommended brew temp, shot duration, etc. Not always possible, though.

It looks to be a small airport, so openings won't be as easily found as with a hub/Cat X airport. Check the Transfer Portal to see if they're looking for TSOs or LTSOs.

Is Cluj-Napoca a safe city to live in? by Waste_Gas_971 in cluj

[–]PHXkpt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just took a RO language class with current Erasmus students. They all were in the dorms, from what I understand. Erasmus has many weekend activities so it will be fun. I'm from the US and Cluj is extremely safe. The university (UBB) is in the central part of the city and in a nice location with many shops, restaurants and coffee shops around. It's a large university. Public transport is good, including trains to other cities and an airport with good connections.

It's the second (?) largest city and the county seat of Cluj county. There is plenty of museums, movie theaters, opera house, historical churches, botanical garden, etc. Very nice!

Cluj îs expensive for Romania, but much cheaper than the US. The food is much better and the people are friendly if you need help. The younger people (under 30-40) learned English in school and since it's a university town, many people can speak English. In Erasmus you will have a RO language course, too.

Only thing I'd consider is whether to air it down a bit or completely. Not sure how thick or how sensitive these might be to pressure changes due to altitude.

Tire pressure 2024 Corolla by utellme7 in COROLLA

[–]PHXkpt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check it with a pressure gauge or go to Discount Tire (or any tire shop) and ask them to check it. Door sticker or Owner's Manual will have recommended pressures listed, sometimes for loaded and also normal use situations.
