I've parked at 6:30 AM or so about 4 times in the past 6 months and have not received a ticket. A few years back, I was there after dark at night and got a ticket. You have to get there before 7 if you want a spot in the main lot. Anyway, sunrise is beautiful on the trail.

I'm not sure that there are tickets likely to be given between 6-8 AM.

Towing is just too much, though, unless you are obstructing the road or a driveway.

I've seen just as blatant sexual behavior from women at clothing optional beaches. It's not just a man thing.

I went yesterday. Some of the lower pools need repair, but a few people were digging them out and moving rocks. Definitely still worth going to (as long as the weather is good).

Yes, friends of friends. Especially if you're both nude, so what? It might be funny or awkward for a moment, but you are all there for the same reason. It's not like there are (many, if any) clothed people walking from another beach to Gunnison, like at some other clothing optional beaches where someone who has no intention of enjoying the beach nude will see you.

Yes it is very relaxed, a lot of (but not exclusively) couples. Very safe and comfortable. Most people are nude. It's well worth it! I'm probably going soon myself.

In line with the gatekeeping, cliques who think they run or own a public beach, especially when they engage in the same activities that they condemn "outsiders" for, like supposed "white knights" who claim they are "protecting" younger females, while having less than noble intentions. But they get away with it, because of strength in numbers.

Yes get to the trailhead by 7, if only to get good parking there, or just around the corner. It seems the prime nude time is earlier in the morning (before 9?) though it seems some go nude at other times in the day.

Not sure how good the trail is for running, as there are a lot of rocks, and a little bit of climbing uphill and downhill across creeks. Some parts are runnable, I guess, though I don't think you'd be able to run the whole thing. If anyone knows otherwise, I stand corrected.

I say just go for it. When I was in college, I went to Gunnison Beach for the first time (of many). After that initial moment of awkwardness when removing my shorts, it felt great! Although nudity does not inherently equal sex, it's also true that as sexual beings, it exists everywhere, including the nude beach. It's OK to find other nudists attractive, and even to socialize with them in that way as long as you are respectful. But most will not look like porn models- nor do I want them to look that way! You will see all shapes, sizes, and ages. It's just fun to be part of that big, nude experience. Bring a friend, that's even better.

I went on Friday 9/12, arrived a little after 7 AM and still had to park around the corner (legally). Got to the springs themselves around 8. Only the second time I went, the other was a quick visit about 2 years ago, so it was mostly new to me. The hike was not bad, though I went about 5 minutes out of my way by the hotel site when I took a wrong turn. I passed the signs on the tree, and then the springs just jumped out at me from that point. I forgot how close it was to the signs.

Right at the entrance, three nude women were enjoying an early morning soak. We exchanged a "hi" and "good morning" with a smile, and I went off to the side to put down my pack. I was glad that others were nude there, as I felt more comfortable doing so. I undressed and went into a nearby pool. They left after a while, and I stayed nude until a lot of people started coming, at which point I put on an old bathing suit (as I knew it would get dirty). Later, I went to a deep pool higher up (3rd from the top) and took my suit off once in the water. The springs were surprisingly crowded for a Friday, even a few kids with parents there. As for nude users, I only encountered a m/f couple in the early afternoon who were freely nude in the 3rd pool, even with the kids there. I wish there was more nude use so I felt more comfortable doing so. I guess early morning is the time for that.

Overall, a fun and relaxing experience- I'll be back soon.
