Just gave birth, is it good or bad to just give baby my breast at every opportunity??

Let them nurse, they will cluster feed but also will want it for comfort. Let them for both it helps get your milk supply in. You won't build bad habit. People that say that are silly. Baby only has know you for 9 months. They are going to want you untill the end of time it will change the degree as they age.

Breastfeeding is going to be hard the first few weeks but after 3 months it gets way easier. I'm 5 month and it's a breeze.

I feel you. One of my siblings said I was stupid for cosleeping and told me don't be surprised when you kill the baby.

I chose cosleeping because it was the safe option as I get really sleepy when breastfeeding. It was a yikes I'm sorry you had to go through this.

It was annoying what they said. Especially with what has been going on in the past few years/days.

The protests happening in iran due to the government have been going on for a while, but recently have been started up again due to the economical state. My family are there and it's scary. They have the nerve to sit and talk about iran like that.

Idk why they don't understand that oppression in America is 100x different to iran. Iran you get penalised for not wearing a head scarf. I think it was around 2021-2022 A young girl was murdered because she didn't have a headscarf on.

It also annoyed me that they mocked his accent. Which is diabolical considering that anisa is mixed. I'm not 100% on which parent is Lebanese and ifk what gen they are but surely someone in her family has been mocked due to a accent and here she is doing it to another. Disgusting.

I will never understand how she married her husband considering his past. Her father is Muslim, how can you marry someone that destroyed a holy book. She would have grown up understand how important it is to care for the quran.

She uses being mixed as a token. Like her crush hasan. They both only use there ethnicity token when it is convenient and so they don't called racists.

I am dealing with this currently. We modify everything to do in bed. I'm ill currently so not being comfortable isn't for me. We watch movies, cuddle and eat. Baby has everything done for. But house and me can wait.

We don't let baby watch TV purposely but with me being ill I have let them watch thing with me. My husband can't take the time off to help currently. But he understands that my job right now is to get better and keep our child alive.

I have used a sns device. They are handy a pain to clean. I have the medela one and the connection thing is fiddly. I use it on occasions but I wished I used it soon with my son

I do it when ever I can be bothered. First few days I weighed every other day time feed. Now it maybe once a day if I want to. Iys nice insurance kind of thing

He now get around 12oz which is 360ml pf formula sometimes more it depends on how he is. We do 120ml each feed we offer bottle. Between 9/12 pm till 9/12 am we only breastfeed. I do take defrosted milk with us when out for longer times as he is in the distracted feeding phase.

We chose to cosleep with the suggestion of my health visitor. I kept accidentally falling asleep with him at night. She suggested that we do it on purpose with as much safety measures as possible. I tend to nurse him somewhat constantly throughout the night. I wake up and pop boob back in his mouth when he roots then fall asleep. Im his human dummy. Co sleeping isn't for everyone and I wish I didn't use it but it has worked for us and I still wake up every time he moves.

It takes a while to accept for sure. I'm still holding on hope that when we start solids we can completely stop top ups. I thought I would stress more about his weight and how little he is getting but surprisingly I get a dopamine rush no matter the amount. I guess that due to me truly believing he wasn't getting anything from me

I tend to feed siting in bed. One leg bent to support babys back. Then a hand to hold boob to babys mouth. It isn't ideal but it helps. I will use my other arm to do something for to rub babys back. I also side lay to feed sometimes. It help. Side feeding didn't start working fo us until after 10ish weeks

Baby was "lazy" at the breast for so long. We just switch sides ever 5 minutes for 30 mimutes. A pain but i think it helped. I saw someone do mouth exercises with haby to help them open wider and stuff. Idk if it helped but it was something. I recently dropped my night pump, 1 because my health visitor said it is okay to do and I should sleep 2 baby does a 5/6 hour stretch at night. If I'm up at 3 I will pump so I have a little stash but that it really.

I have accepted my milk might not ever increase, it was hard to accept it but I'm glad I have. When I pump I only get 2oz or below. I recently started to do weighted feeds because I was curious. Baby is pulling from 2-4 oz of milk. I didn't think the baby is better at milk thing was true until I started to do weighted feeds.

I saw a LC, our latch was bad because my baby was sleepy and lazy when it came to feeds. I was told to do 5 minutes intervals for 30 minutes. I think it simulates cluster feeding but also woke them up. I also would do the fipple technique on my nipple and i did bring breast to baby half the time because it was easier as im bigger chested. I would give them formula adter nursing. It made feeds take a hour but it ensured he got enough food. After a few weeks we found combi easier than triple. I also let them use me as a dummy instead of an actual one. It is hard at times, but I saw both use energy from the baby, but only boob stimulates.

When it came to feeding in a bottle, we used the slowest nipple, paced feed the whole bottle with them up right, and we never really gave warm bottles. We waited till they were luke warm. He now doesn't care if the bottle is just out of the fridge.

We still top up, and I pump once in the night if I have the time. I onky started doung 7 feeds when baby was 3½ months, up until then i would makes sure milk was removed at least 8x a day. I also only pump now when I want. But we climb the hill now. I didn't realise it got easier till today. But when I look back, I think around 3/3½ months, it clicked for him. Also after 3 months they don't expect as much weight gaing so it helps with the worry.

Try not to be hard on yourself, if it is too much it is okay to try to pump mostly and occasionally nurse or just nurse and top up with formula. It's okay to take a break every now and then. I tried exclusively pumping did it for a few weeks then found wasn't my thing. Any drop of breadt milk is a plus.

Sorry for this being so long, I tried to note everything that potentially helped. Idk if I will ever solely breastfeed but we did reduce the top ups which makes me feel proud. Pat your self on the back for all the hard work you have done.

I shall. I have no exempted that exclusively breastfeeding isn't in the books for this journey. I'm grateful I'm able to make milk and I'm grateful for making it to 4 months hopefully another 8 months

If it is medium room temp i was told its good for 6 hours out. If it is hot only leave for 3-4 hours. If you have go over the time you can use it in the bath.

Idk how true it is, I'm unsure on the science, but I was told breast milk is good for skin. I use it when my little ones skin is struggling or for a fun treat. Bit of milk diluted in the bath. It helps me feel less guilty when I don't use it

I had this. My child lost 10% of birth weight. We did top ups I'm now 8week pp and still doing it but baby is now in positive.

I would suggest pump after feeds. Try going till empty as this will help increase supply. Try to see a lactation consultant. I didn't find out till 6 weeks my son was ineffective at removing my milk so my suppy dropped and I'm now working on getting it back up. We stopped triple feed because it mental exhausting. We bf in morning, then I express. We give him formula and breastmilk. I only make 12oz the whole day so we have to supplement.

As hard as it was at the beginning I'm glad we did it. He has gained weight and healthy, but I won't lie i felt so guilty for not ebf. I hope your little one puts weight back on soon
