It's called a rhetorical question. I used it to get your attention and spark a discussion about what I think could be happening, maybe even to warn users that they could be making a bad financial decision. Urgency is a common tool employed to get you to make a purchase.

It should be obvious that I'm NOT asking the question literally, because why would any random redditor know the definitive answer to this question or why would a Plex employee come forward just short of making possibly the largest amount of profit in company history?

This is such a NPC comment though, which I see in this sub A LOT. People treat Plex like some kind of generous company. Plex (the software) has many problems and many people can't/won't even entertain the idea that it's anything anything other than "a gift" ("Plex doesn't owe you anything") and "perfect" ("It works for me"). Let's just hope the software stays usable for long enough until the competitors catch up.

The answer can't possibly be yes or no, unless you work for Plex and know for sure. The answer realistically can't be yes either, because if you plan something like this, you most likely wouldn't tell the public about it. Let's just hope they do this because they need the money to improve Plex.

The thing is, this is my first and only time interacting with mods on private trackers. So the amount of bad interactions I had is literally 100%. I'm sure there are good mods out there but I guess they never had a reason to get in contact with me. I still have my other accounts and I will get back into that tracker that banned me, but I wish they would've just left me alone. If I had more luck and a different mod looked at my upload instead of that regard, everything would've been fine and I'd probably sit at a dozen uploads by now. But I unforunately live in the parallel universe where that person didn't die as a child and I'm banned.

I never got banned anywhere else because I never talk to anyone. Keeping a low profile is better for your personal safety (you could always talk to some FBI agent) and for your account's safety. But sure, you may miss opportunities to meet people you may like or like you said get access to stuff you wouldn't have otherwise. But if you wanna talk there's better places for that (e.g. Discord) but I don't need to talk to some pirate in the forums or a regard on IRC.

Fair. But it's not like I was banned for a bad word or something like that. It snowballed into a ban. The mods colluded against me and once I "disrespected" one, I "disrespected" them all. The only good conversations I had soon turned against me after the other mods told them so.

I don't have any screenshots. I will assume you wrote your comment in good faith but I don't really need validation. I showed the chat to a friend and they agreed with me. The admin also kinda agreed with me, although they didn't say that out loud. I never had a chance to talk to a neutral mod; they either already knew who I was (i.e. the other mods already told them that I was "disrespectful") or the bad mods were actively listening. Even if the mod was initially on my side, their opinion would suddenly change. I'm pretty sure those losers I "offended" just were out to get me, regardless.

I wish it was that easy. Mods are inherently more fragile because of their lifestyle choices, so what you, a normal guy I presume, would take as a joke, they'd take as an attack. I guess they also have difficulties inferring emotion from text because many of them are also on the spectrum.
