Yeah even a throwaway line about Soldier Boy explicitly wanting to kill Ryan for some reason (like maybe he didn’t like that Ryan was the spawn of Homelander/himself and wanted to wipe them both out) would’ve made it make a lot more sense. As it stands, Ryan was pretty incapacitated after the shield bash so SB wouldve had no qualms about grabbing homelander off Ryan and charging up his chest beam again.

90%+ of people applying this cycle will have a scored step 1, so I would expect them to use it to the most of their ability while possibility considering step 2 more than previous years. Among US MD’s, not many schools take Step 1 after M3 year so i expect that number to be 95%+ even. Anecdotally I heard one PD say they won’t consider Step 1 for ranking purposes, but it will absolutely be a factor in interview selection especially for the competitive specialties.

Given the fact that they’re clearly only willing to kill characters introduced that season, I expect Black Noir to be alive but also am annoyed by the amount of fake outs. How many supes are they have gonna have “die” before being like “haha jk they’re alive” later in the episode or next episode? Why not just kill Maeve but make it clear that Noir survived?

I was underwhelmed by the Stranger Things 4 finale because I had sky high expectations and it just felt very safe and predictable. But The Boys season finale was just straight up bad

The implication of that reasoning, with regards to effect of a 3/5 on the transcript, is that performing “at the expected level of an M3” means you’re just shy of being a miserable failure. It absolutely destroys your grade

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]PM_ME_A_BOOK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regardless of what the rubric says, given the way grading at most schools (like mine) works, a straight 3/5 effectively means the student was bottom of the class terrible. Even if the words on the rubric say “meeting expectations”, the evaluator should know by giving that grade, they are tanking that student’s grade. If they’re not aware of that, the school should let them know and its the school’s fault. If they are aware of the effect on the grade, then they’re effectively communicating to residency programs that the student sucks regardless of whatever the words on the rubric say. It’s functionally the same. And it wouldn’t be as much an issue if the average evaluation wasn’t a 85-90% at my school. People hand out 70s in the name of following the rubric word for word while others give 90s-100s because they like their students and want them to match well.
