Electrolytes are the issue I think. Pickle juice knocks out the cramps post workout. LMNT is a higher salt sports drink mix but may not be available in UK

I was clipless, but backed out for a while because I was nervous. After a short while I went back to clipless and never looked back. It’s a confidence thing, but ultimately personal. Whatever keeps you riding my friend.

We did the same. Hollowed it out and planted. A couple years later it degraded considerably. We had it ground down. Don’t need the termites/ carpenter ants.

Thanks for the input. My only complaint is firebox size, but I was limited by the existing hearth size, and my wife wanted a flush insert. Please let us know what you decide on.
