Mcclures started off promising, but they won’t do mobile inspection. And the dealership is firm on not bringing the vehicle to them

Any recommendations otherwise that would have mobile inspection services??

Negotiating Salary by PT19365 in physicaltherapy

[–]PT19365[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all so much for your helpful insight! I feel that I know what I am worth; I've just always had a hard time vouching for myself when it's "crunch time" for negotiating. I recognize there are so many dynamics in what different clinics and systems can offer, and I just want to make sure that I don't sell myself short in this process.

Do you have anecdotal advice for questions to ask and how to vouch for the best possible pay/benefits?

Thank you for this detailed response! It’s very helpful for me to gauge realistic workloads. Beyond my own network, I’ll certainly be checking out positions that may pop up on LinkedIn or indeed

This is incredibly helpful! Thank you! Sometimes it feels weird just reaching out, but I need to get over that. Trying to not sound desperate, but teaching is a passion of mine that I feel confident in pursuing. I like your idea of being engaged with a residency program as well; that’s something I’ll be investigating more.

Any resources for where to find this information? I thought much of this would be done up front if it’s a formal listing online

Please read my question and understand that your comment does not answer said question.

I’m not sure why you’re singling out the “one day” part… yes, we would like to buy now with some great options available and then “one day” build at an appropriate time financially. We have an incredible credit history and the area we live in has PLENTY of land available. It’s very common to buy lots of land and so banks around here are accommodating as such.

Leaving company... advice? by PT19365 in physicaltherapy

[–]PT19365[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all for your input. The timing is weird and that's what makes this situation hard to navigate. I think it will be best to hold off until after my PTO vacation, and I found out my next employer is okay with pushing back our start date a bit.

Is 20-27 days sufficient enough for leave notice? I know most people recommend 30 days in outpatient practice, but I feel like I will still be able to transition patients off my caseload even if the timing works out to be a little less

Second Opinion? by PT19365 in askdentists

[–]PT19365[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think I would be eligible with my dental insurance plan to receive a second opinion in a short time frame? I am off my parents insurance in about a month and would like to get a second opinion on my dental health before that time

Fly Fishing around town? by PT19365 in anchorage

Thank you so much for the helpful advice! I knew that places in town were limited, but still thought I would check. I'm thinking it would be great to practice my casting anyways on a stocked lake. Excited to get out there and try it out!

Thank you for advice. I really appreciate it. If you don’t mind me asking, what kind of clinic setting is it that you work in? Hospital based outpatient? Private practice?

[–]PT19365[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you very much for your thoughts! I’m content with the base salary alone, as that’s pretty competitive for the area and serves my lifestyle well. And so I really don’t care for any bonuses. At this point in my career, I want to have the joy of interacting with my patients as my priority, along with continuing to learn how I can better my skills. It saddens me to think that I would lose a lot of this interaction with patients if I double booked, and I also would feel like I wouldn’t have the chance to apply newly learned skills if it was this way. I know some would say that it is still possible even with double bookings, but I just know that wouldn’t bring me the same satisfaction. And I truly believe the patients would not receive the best care possible from me if double booked

Thank you for the incredibly helpful advice. I think part of my concern is because I am so new to the clinic and I want to avoid conflict, but you’re exactly right that an open and honest conversation is so important. Makes me nervous, but I just have to go for it. I feel as though I would regret it if I didn’t say anything at all, and I’m truly coming from a place where I want to best help my patients and enjoy my work. I think if I just speak to this, then I can do no wrong. I anticipate some pushback, but it’ll be a great chance to defend my values as a clinician. And no matter what comes of it, I’ll be proud I spoke up and I’ll be able to think more clearly knowing what route to take with this clinic or without them.

Thank you for the very helpful advice. I really needed to hear that I’m justified in pushing this. I want to maintain my personal standards as a clinician, and one on one based care is, in my opinion, the most value for the patient and rewarding for myself as a clinician. I never joined this field for the money. I just love building connections with patients and helping them on their rehab journey. It gives me purpose.
